I think super low end cars only, like the Aveo these types of things are options. I would think for anything costing more than $15K it's a no-brainer.
I'm currently driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler with no power windows or door locks. But don't call it a car.

Is the RS just an appearance package? Will you be able to get a V6 RS? Sorry if this was already asked.

i'm looking at the Ford GT's now for a comparison, and I can see that these maro's are quite a bit heavier.

compare the 2008 deluxe GT at 3500 vs the SS @ 3860. Sorry but 360 pounds is a big difference. but with the SS having 122 more HP...it shouldn't matter putting a 422 HP 'maro against a 300 HP GT...even if you have a 360 lbs passenger. or two 180's
Weight is a factor, but changing 360 pounds in a 4000 pound vehicle isn't. Did you read the post I linked? In my observations, people who remove a few hundred pounds from even a 2500 pound car don't even get much of any fuel economy improvement unless they're driving like assholes. The reason that a lighter car comes with better fuel economy in reasonable driving is because it can come with less power or taller gears.

Now, if we're talking about performance, that's a whole other issue and any weight loss translates directly into faster acceleration. My post was about fuel economy and was a response to another post about the same.

Lame. Will the optional spare be full size or donut? If the spare tire well is made for a full size tire then at least people can buy a cheap wheel and tire at non-OEM prices to use as the spare.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I hear it was rather simple...to the point...and stuff we pretty much already knew. Not that I don't want to see it, but let's hope for more on part two at 2pm.

From what I gather, there's going to be another in a couple more weeks as well.

I am a little concerned about the weight of those massive 20in wheels. The unsprung weight has to be pretty high. The rotational mass of a 20x8.5 wheel is very high then add on the wieght of the tire and you have a large mass to overcome. I know we all love the look of the 20 but do you think there might be a 18in option? If they are doing this to increase speed and fuel economy why not have an 18in wheel and take .75/1.00 in off the ride height and it would be the same. It would also increase the handling by lowering the center of gravity.

Hmm, that's kind of a bummer. Was hoping that this would be available so that when I need to use E85 5-10 years down the road, my Camaro is already set up for it.

I was asking cause my other choice is a Pontiac Solstice which is way more than 15K and theres no A/C, its a 1200$ option and power door/windows mirror are 1040$
