Aftermarket headlights Camaro SS 2010

Hey guys so I have a 2010 Camaro ss with the stock HIDS. The previous owner wasn't too bright and put the bulb in wrong on one of the headlights and it literally melted the whole headlight housing. I've checked multiple sites because I really want blacked out/smoke aftermarket headlights but every site says fits all cars except factory HIDS. Do I have to buy a GM headlight? They retail for over 700 dollars just for one Does anyone know of any aftermarket lights that perform well and look good? Thanks! ✌

Generally aftermarket lights are not going to be HID (I mean unless you use a kit that fits the bulb size but that is not factory HID) because they are made for those wanting to upgrade their halogen headlights.

Your best bet is to get one used off ebay or a junkyard or just buy new.

In my experience on other vehicles (others experience may vary) aftermarket headlights are not near the quality of factory so you are better off buying original equipment headlights since you already have HID. Converting from HID to non HID housings using aftermarket HID kit just seems like you are asking for trouble.

Stick to OEM. Any aftermarket headlight housing is going to be crap. They'll leak, have horrible light output, and if they have halo's they'll burn out quickly.

How on earth do you put a D1S bulb in wrong? It goes in one way and one way only.

I have no idea people are not the smartest it was in crooked and literally melted the whole headlight. The only thing about the factory lights is they're 700 plus for one light. That's crazy!

Damn that is rough dude, I would get on ebay and start searching for a replacement housing. From my brief search on ebay, it seems used OEM housings are going for $250-350 right now so that's some good savings on one of them. Still expensive, but much better than $700. Just check the pictures for all tabs are intact
