Air Aid vs Cold Air Inductions ?

Hi all,

Buying a used CAI for my 2010 SS this week. Anyone have any opinions on these two brands? These are what are available near me ($120 for air aid & $175 for CAI used).

Looking for best bang for buck in terms of power and sound.

Yes I read some threads about them respectively but haven't seen one directly comparing the two. At this point it just feels like whatever intake someone owns is the best.

After researching the same thing on this site, I've concluded there isn't a huge difference in the performance of one intake over another. That being said, I'll be buying a CAI because that one seems better by a slight margin.

Agreed in regards to going from CAI to CAI... the difference is negligible. There is a bump from the stock box to a CAI for sure, but just go with the one you think compliments your bay and you'll be happy for sure.

Elky, If you're looking for that 'narrow margin' on a 2011, go ram air otr that will give you a bit more than the cone/tube CAI's. If your radiator cap is in the center instead of off to the side on your radiator, then you can get a ram air Vararam. This will give you the best bang for your buck.

Either way, it looks like you will be getting a deal for the prices you posted.

After you said this, I spent some time researching it. I think you're right.

There has never been a real life comparison done to test any cai. Everybody suggests what they have. The Z/28 cai has been dynoed by a few members with great results. But since nobody sells it on here you wont find anyone talking about it.

This is very true. Plus they just look really cool under the hood. It's what I have on my Green Flash.
