I suggest to get the custom tune from Dynosteve too. Not expensive and his tunes are really blasting the car, especially on A6 models (TCM tune etc.)
Just to summarize: when you tuned off the AFM (DOD) , did it make a difference (issue is gone etc.)?

you're not going to loose any milage as afm is a lie. works on paper but not in real life. You may even gain mileage. you dont need a tune for intake and exhaust but it really helps the transmission in autos.

AMF DOD turned off

I spoke with Steve. I told him about turning off the DOD and yes, it worked perfectly. when you have a really loud open exhaust, the DOD drop outs are really noticeable. granted, MPG dropped a lot. I was averaging 17 city/22 HWY and now I'm averaging 13 city and 18 HYW but it's worth the fun since I only drive it on sunny days.

After my tune from DynoSteve the gas mileage was very similar to before the tune, I lost 0.5 mpg on the highway. I have a 13 mile stretch of highway I set the cruise control to 70 and zero out the fuel consumption reading, then at the end of the stretch I check it. I'm still at 24 mpg after my last tune.

I wish i lived somewhere close to DynoSteve. I only have PurPerformance close to me and they charge 375 for a dyno tune. Sucks for me.

With your mods you don't need a dynotune.

Do what I did. PM Dynosteve, ask for the Camaro5 member discount, he will give you a special code to use at checkout on his website. Make sure your email includes ALL requested changes for L99 (AFM OFF, reduced TQ. mgmt, etc...), and ALL of your installed mods. He has a form on his website you can fill out.

Within 24-48 hours he will email your new tune to download to your SCT X4.

Load that sucker to your car and enjoy!

Edit: I don't want to leave ordering from Ted Jannetty from JRE out of remote tune consideration here. The man is very highly respected in the LS community. I have dealt with him personally when buying parts, and he really cares about his customers.

Ted or Steve, you cannot go wrong!

^ Agreed... He doesn't need a dyno for those simple mods. OP you already have tuner so I would guess a custom tune would be pretty cheap from Steve now. he will change your car for the better. You will kick your a$$ you didn't do it sooner once its installed.

I strongly recommend a transmission tune
. Makes a very noticeable difference in performance
An inexpensive upgrade is switching rear end ratio to 391 from a 1 le .Gas mileage will suffer a little on hwy not so much in city provided u keep foot out of it.
