What did you pay for a Dyno pull?

I was quoted by a local shop today for a 3 pull Dyno run $175 + $55 to "look" the car over.

I feel this is a little expensive for just a Dyno pull.. What have you paid?

Not looking for Dyno Tuning costs. I understand that is timely and costly. Just a simple baseline Dyno run is all I was interested in at this time before I do a cam install.

Plus.. any recommendations in or near NJ that are reasonable I would be interested to know.

Thanks..

Come to our dyno day this weekend $70 for 3 pulls. We aren't far, right over the bridge in tax-free Delaware, we can also talk to you about cam install and future work.

All of our cars stay inside every night and everything is done in house.

Last time I had just a dyno run, a local car forum ran an event with a shop. $50 bucks for 3 pulls. My car at the time (Aveo) was so hilarious, I got a quarter mile run in, too. Ended up making some money taking bets on what the time would be.

My shop that I go to charges $65 for 3 pulls. What does "look the car over" mean? What all are they looking at when they "look it over"?

All vehicles in the shop for tuning (Unless stock) are subject to a half hour to an hour of labor for shakedown/diagnostic time to ensure the vehicle is fit to be tuned/ran on the dyno. (This helps keep us from having to tune around or diag issues that could have been fixed prior to starting the tuning process.)

That sounds like a way to charge you a little extra money. My vehicle inspection was while they were loading and strapping it onto the dyno. Good luck with your baseline run.

Yeah.. My thoughts exactly. Prob won't be going there if this is their standard way of attracting customers. Not my kind of shop to spend my $ at. Thanks.. Still looking but nothing real local except East Coast Supercharging and they start at $150 so it is less and nothing about the wallet dip.

$70 for 2 pulls I believe was what I got. Same as you, wanted a baseline before the cam install. Smart choice! Good luck!

Yeah baseline pulls are generally in the 3 pulls for $75.00 range anything above that is going into actually tuning the car...
