How come 11's are hard even with Fabberge twin turbos?

Since the Fabberge twin turbo kit nearly doubles the output of the LFX engine at 12psi, how come no one here has hit 11's with their kit? It seems the new 6th gen SS's are hitting very high 11's with just a CAI, slicks and a tune. So, why can't the Fabberge twin turbo kit hit those times?

Is the fact that no one has been able to tune out the WOT restriction under 4K rpms the real culprit here?

More to quarter mile times than just throwing a bunch of power at a car. The 3.6L has huge limitations in it.

True, I realize that. It has two fewer cylinders. lol! According to the Fabberge site, the twin turbo kit at 12 psi should give the LFX nearly 460 rwhp and 443 lb-ft which equals 575 hp at the crank.

The 6th gen LT1's that have been dynoed so far seem to be getting 420 ish rwhp. That's 40 rwhp less than the twin turbo LFX.

Even accounting for the slight weight advantage that the 6th gen has over the 5th gen, the twin turbo kit should propel the LFX to a faster time in the 1/4 than a mostly stock LT1 6th gen.

The mph seems to be there at 118-119 which is 2-3 mph more than most 6th gen LT1's I see reported on the 6th gen forum. However, the twin turbo LFX seems to be stuck in the low 12's for some reason. The only thing I could think of is the WOT restriction below 4K rpms that nobody likes to talk about. No doubt, the 6th gen LT1 is a monster though.

Like magnum said, there's a lot more to 1/4 mile times than having a powerful car. I'm running 12.1 but that's with a 2.0 60ft. A car that that traps 120 is a fast car. The 6th gen V8 I saw at the track a couple weeks ago ran mid to high 14's at around 107mph. Its not as easy as the magazine's make it out to be.

Here's a pic I snapped of the 6th gen pass.

I certainly agree. Low 12's for the V-6 is really a super achievement. Getting into the 11's is really challenging. At this point, it is my experience to go to even taller gears, to get there. Will probably loose terminal speed but should put one into the 11's, if already in extremely low 12's. This is only my opinion. Low 12's for the little engines is really rewarding when you think about it. That is FAST!!

Especially when I went 14.6 @ 95mph stock. Installed the turbo kit and went 12.1 @ 120mph. A gain of 25mph in the quarter is a HUGE power increase.

JantzenOKC, what boost were you running, what rear gears and what compression ratio, when you turned 12.1? That is an awesome run, for sure.

When comparing to the 6th gen try not to think about the power. Remember the 6th gen is lighter and also has a better transmission and gearing. These super fast 2016 Camaro SS cars running low 12s out of the box are around 3600ish and rocking an 8speed auto with a far more advanced rear end.
Now consider they are running 450 HP which isn't much but they also make 450ft/lbs of torque. So this motor makes power through the entire power band.

14-15lbs of boost, factory v6 auto open rear diff(3.27), factory compression(11.5:1), actually the ONLY thing I changed on the motor itself was the spark plugs. I told Fabberge that I wanted to run an 11.99 with nothing on the car but their turbo kit. I almost got it... If it wouldn't have been for ingesting oil and hydro locking my engine I would have!

That's also with factory 20" wheels and general gmax all season tires, notice the 2.1 60ft times. Now that I'm adding the converter, LSD diff, 18" drag radials, and bmr rear suspension I should be getting DEEP into the 11's.

Here are all my time slips from that night.

All good info from the above. Driver mod being the one beyond control, and thats why you see all the 600-700hp plus V8 cars only going 12's or 11's in the 1/4 when the power dictates more.

Magnum will be breaking records I have no doubt, and Jantzen as well. Alice has more than enough potential as well. Watch as they get their 60's in line.

Here is an example of a C5 vette with no more power than any of the 3 (all motor, no Nitrous or FI of an kind) and it is all in the suspension set-up and the converter (FTI 4600). Watch in slow motion as it cuts 1.40 60's and runs 10.70's....all with less power than most FI Gen5 Camaros (not all, there are some really set-up right on here):

And of course weight, but with a turbo, the time to spool up to the "sweet spot" in the power curve requires a pretty high stall converter, and get any of those in the 4200-4800 range and watch. Always delete the front sway bar, and with any IRS rear suspension, install the thickest strongest rear sway bar in the rear to maintain stability. The suspension should be a 80/20 drag shock front (or better yet, a dual adjustable) and at least a 50/50 rear. Your goal is not only to make sure you launch in the power band, but also the transference of weight and energy and then planting it to the ground. Watch several times to see just how the front comes up as the shocks extend easy and then slowly compress as the car moves, and the rear squats and the tires sidewall also comes into play. When you run say a 20" tire/wheel, there is little sidewall to work. As you watch this launch, look closely at all that occurs. MPH is only in the 123-124 range as well, so not much higher than these V6's.

Also, every 100#'s is a tenth in the 1/4 mile for the average door car.

Here are a few time slips to see multiple runs with this example:

Watch how the 60' affects the ET when staging was a bit deeper than target or slight wheel spin:

R/T .004
60' 1.411
330' 4.301
1/8 6.780
MPH 98.70
1000 8.917
1/4 10.731
MPH 123.98

R/T .016
60' 1.4314
330' 4.325
1/8 6.787
MPH 99.63
1000 8.924
1/4 10.739
MPH 123.96

R/T -.009 (red, bumped in too deep)
60' 1.445
330 4.443
1/8 6.789
MPH 99.81
1000 8.928
1/4 10.741
MPH 123.99

Lot's of factors, but mainly is the gear ratio and converter stall and suspension/tire.

Get down to running your # and then how you stage has an impact. Just shallow staging where the second yellow just flickers on will get you better 60' and incremental's, as you have a bit more roll-out, but your lights if your basing leaving off that same stage spot can be red if you accidentally bump in deeper than expected. (reaction time has no impact on ET or MPH).

With that high of boost, I would expect a good time like you had. With converter and gears, you would have broken 11s, all other things remaining the same. Impressive runs. Hard to believe 15 psi boost on that compression! That's a lot!
