I know we don't have any pricing, but does anyone have any idea how much the RS package will cost?
Not an exactl number, but a range?

Yeah not too much new there. I was kinda hoping for the heads up display and the back up sensors but I don't really need them. So ordering info in December and we won't be able to put an order in until January? That seems a little too close to the production date. Even the solstice and sky's were able to place an order 4 to 5 months ahead. So when are we expected to hear about price and options. In full detail?

Strangely enough, Oppenheiser also claims that the automatic-equipped SS Camaro, which is rated at 400 hp, runs from zero to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds. "We optimized the shift points," he said.
Hey, let me first say that I am awaiting the new Camaro with open arms if not an open garage as much as the next guy but as a Ford Mustang guy, I hate to rain on anyone's parade... My stock 2006 manual transmissioned Mustang GT rated at 300 HP at the engine did the 1/4 mile in 13.67 seconds at 103.3 mph (again, bone stock) bettering the 300hp Camaro V-6. And with some bolt ons I got her down to 13.26 at 109 on stock street tires (dyno verified 310 RWHP). Either Chevy is playing down those numbers or the 6.2 L is very de-tuned in order to maintain some decent mpg numbers to satisfy US Gov't CAFE requirements.

But yes, I'll admit that the yet to be realized potential of the Camaro big block with similar easy bolt ons or more is intriguing!!!

I'll also admit that I am mostly awaiting the new Camaro (and Challenger) for selfish reasons...hoping that it makes Ford step up to the bar and raises the overall performance level of all of the competition in the American Muscle Car industry.

what really sucks is that there will be no GREAT distinction between models as far as outside appearance -- it will be up to US to make that difference. Most of the top of the line options are available on all models

I like that...if you get the 8, its like having a sleeper.

You should spend the extra money to get more performance, more options etc. You shouldn't have to buy an 8 cylinder to get a different spoiler or hood, thats retarded.

I feel sorry for you if you need people to know how much you spent on your car just by looking at it. That would put you in the same class as all those guys with the fake z28 badges, fake Type R badges, and fake M3 badges....you just spent a lot more money to do it.

If someone who can't afford or doesn't want the higher end model really likes the wheels on the other one why shouldn't he be able to buy them?

I agree for the most part, but I'd have expected the V6 to have single exit exhaust and the V8 dual.

why? the V6 can challenge V8 mustangs(from what ive heard), it deserves duals!

and if cars like my grand prix has dual exhaust then the camaro should for sure!

Good points, I guess in my mind that's how they should be distinguished. I wonder how similar the exhaust notes will be.
