It definitely won't slip, even with just the weight of the tensioner resting on the belt it isn't slipping. I have to make sure the belts are 100% aligned right now, might have to shim the plate just a little bit. Should be done with the system this weekend, then I start to tune it for the new pulley. Before I was spinning the impeller at 51,254 RPM's with the 2.95" pulley, now I will spin it 52,972 with the 7/3.33 combo. Those are at 7,000 engine RPM's, at 7400 RPM it will be spinning at 56,000 RPM's. That is going to flow a lot of air.

Got the crank pulley spacers and the crank pulley lines up 100% with the jackshaft pulley. I finally got my 5.0 off the jacks now after Circle D sent me a new converter. Now I can put the Camaro on jacks to install the boost pipes and change the brake pads. Only part I need now are 3 long 5/16 coarse socket head bolts to hold the pulley to the damper. Originally I was going to use only 3 bolts to hold the 10 rib, now I'm going to use 6 bolts, 3 have to be long enough to go through the damper and hold the 6 rib on the other side.
I'm going to try to make a write up for how to do this upgrade along with notes that I've learned from doing it. |

This weekend, just drilled and tapped the tensioner bolts. I still have to mount the power steering reservoir and fill it up.

Do you still have the IPF PS set up, (might have read where you modified it?) anyways, one of the best mods was the overkill PS kit. No HP gains but man, I've never been more happy to have a better PS set up. Old set up was garbage.

Still the original IPF setup, 4 years and no problems with it.

Got everything installed except the power steering reservoir return line. Once I get that on I can fill it up with fluid and start it up. The complete setup looks good, should make power all the way to 7500 rpm.

This is incredible. Haven't heard from you in a while so figured I would drop by and see what was going on...
Now I know why!

Belt is slightly loose. Don't feel like rotating the video either.

Got the belt tightened but from what it looks like, only 60% of the tensioner pulley is making good hard contact with the belt. Due to the extensions I had to add to it to line up with the crank pulley it is causing the bolt to flex a little bit. It would probably be fine for the current power but I'm going to go ahead and do it right for when I want more power. I will have to buy spacers and lift the entire tensioner up so that the pulley isn't so far off the tensioner plate. Instead of 1 bolt trying to keep it flat, 3 will be.
It is going to be raining here for the next few days so I will have plenty of time to do this little bit of work. Once that is done I have the long task of tuning it. With the new HP Tuners beta allowing control over the low pressure fuel pump I can increase the main feed PSI to over 70. That will help out a lot, the LNF guys had to manually take the pump apart to get more pressure but it supplied them more pressure for using E85. |

I have had these "loose belt" problems before on custom supercharger installs. My solution was to add another "non-adjustable" idler pulley in the system. I can't tell for sure but it looks like you could put one just to the left of the supercharger pulley. I would use a little longer belt and have mount the "non-adjustable" pulley a little lower towards the centerline of the supercharger pulley and that will also give you more belt contact on that pulley and eliminate most, if not all of the "belt hop"! Just drill one hole in the back plate, get a bolt, a spacer and a small idler. I could be overlooking something because the video is so short but I have solved this type of problem many, many times on custom installs. It looks like the belt is flexing way too much for any kind of reliability but you are almost there. Great job!

The tensioner bolts weren't tight enough so it loosened the belt. Once I tightened it down the belt didn't flop around.
I got the spacers under the tensioner, should help out. |

About $500 for a good one that isn't some Chinese knock off crap that wouldn't survive a 10 second pass. I got the belt tightened good now and revved it to 2000 rpm. Taking it slow but so far so good. Best part is the instant boost, a lot better reaction to opening the throttle. The cog belt jerks the supercharger to spin instead of requesting it.
