You will not be able to install RideTech's adjuster knob. You can use it to adjust the rebound you just cannot leave it on because the knob would bottom out on the top nut. This Moreno/RideTech combo stacks up more than the RideTech camber plates assembly.

Checking ride height. Be consistent, especially when making changes. A flat level surface will reward you too. Keep notes. Adjusting the ride height on the RideTechs WILL take time. As you move one end, the other will change. Make sure your tire pressure and fuel load is always the same when making changes. To do this correctly, the car should be on scales so the corner weights can be set to a good balance. But if you do not have access, just take your time, you may give up some perfection. I always measured mine in millimeters (except in this pic!)
Some say 660mm is the sweet spot. I went a little more up front. With the rear a little more than that for some rake. Eventually the car settled down some more at the front and was about 650mm/666mm

Do not forget to time your bushings!

Update!

Not much happening this winter. I'm looking at getting a set of track only wheels, 19x10.5 front, 19x11 rear. Also looking at Bridgestone RE-71R 305 tires all around. I have new, longer wheels studs to install. No changes on the Z/28 suspension. I'm still running the OE 1LE rear bar which is bigger than the Z/28 rear bar.

The 2017 1LE is in the back of my mind. Guys who now own the Gen 6 1LE and previously owned a 5TH Gen are saying positive things. One comment was that it is a big change. My bro-in-law has a Cadillac ATS-4 with the Performance Trim (not a V), 2.0L turbo. I fell in love with the razor sharp chassis and awesome steering on this car. Now we all now know the Gen 6 is built off the same chassis (Alpha). I previously said then to my Bro-in-law is if the Gen 6 Camaro has the great steering of his car and add the V8 it would be perfect. Fast forward to the recent 2017 1LE reviews and that same comment has been said.

I wish i could keep my 5Th Gen and still get a 6TH

How much does the belly pan help?

Does it effect the under hood temps?

Thanks

Not sure on the temps, but the belly pan is more for aero

I understand it's for aero, I'm just trying to determine the tradeoffs.

Is the aero improvement significant?

Thanks
Craig

I've never had a temp issue. I believe the belly pan isn't hurting aero.

Thank you for sharing your skill and experience with us!

It appears to me like some of your brake duct cooling hoses are of the variety that have metal wire infused in them to give them a more consistent structure. If I'm right about that, please know that if these are still installed a decade or two from now, there is a good chance the metal in some places gets exposed to air and corrodes, and the tubing breaks down. I've seen that happen in aircraft where this same type of tubing is used to direct air flow.

The heritage grill and flow tie combination are really nice, in my opinion. Did you order the heritage grill as an option when you bought the car, or install a bit later? I wonder if the heritage grill is a bolt on/easy swap.

Glad you have enjoyed your 1LE, as I have also! One thing I wonder about with the new '17 1LE, is what the direct injection engine reliability will look like compared to the LS3. We probably won't have a definitive answer until more experience and results are collected from the current '16 and '17 SS owners, I would guess.

Thanks again!

Experience yes, skill, no

It sounds like you have experience and skills of an aircraft variety. Thank You for the heads up on that tubing. Yes, it is of the same kind you are describing. Yes, with the movement this tubing endures, I will be replacing it within the year as the tubing material eventually starts to tear. I try to prolong the tubing by preemptively wrapping the black duct tape in areas that may rub on something. The wire has not been an issue, but I do not drive in the rain or expose it to salt from winter driving.

I did not purchase the Heritage grill when I received the car. It was about a month or two later. The heritage grill is the Z/28 grill without the Flowtie and Z emblem. I got lucky and found a Flowtie on ebay. At the time they were still a restricted Z/28 part. The front bumper cover has to be removed in order to replace the grill.

The word is the engine, power wise is fantastic. Yes, only time will tell about long term durability. I know some of the industry's DI engines have had some teething problems. DI engines are rough on the rings and cylinders because of the fuel washing of the oil.

I really am liking the performance of the new 1LE. I am liking the "feel" of it to a greater amount. As I mentioned in a few posts earlier, GM is building in a special steering feel within some of their recent vehicles. And I lust after that feel, it is so engaging and satisfying. I will drive one, which it will make things more difficult as my wife doesn't get the whole "car" thing.

lol

Update:
Still running the Z/28 DSSV's, springs, ARBs and I have added the Z/28 rear knuckle which has an upgraded trailing arm bushing and the Z/28 trailing arm which also has an upgrade bushing. I finally removed the OE 1LE rear ARB and installed the OE Z/28 one. Car felt more secure with that install. Steering feels great, been running around on my track alignment, -2.4*/-1.2* f/r camber, 8.4* caster, 0 toe up front, just a litlle toe in at rear. First track day coming up in a few weeks. Looking into running 305/30/19 tires and 19x11 wheels. Real close to making something happen stay tuned!

Rear axle nut and washer. Service manual states must replace when disassembled. Nut part # 11611234, don't forget to stake it to the axle, I have seen a few guys forget to do this and it will loosen!

New spot for alignments. Car sits on pads which are on a perfect flat plane. I can duplicate the #s. Took lots of time to control the variables, but now I can play with confidence
