Manual steering conversion

I'm wondering if there is anyway to convert the standard power steering on a 2011 Camaro to manual steering? I've driven a car before with manual steering and found that I like the feel.

It is a safety issue like power disc brakes vs. manual drum brakes. The faster you can react the safer.

it's not a safety issue if done right... Pontiac Fiero had manual steering. The Fiero drove nicely at speed... was a PIA to park.

I'm guessing you'd have to swap out the steering rack with a manual version... I'm sure you'd need some fabrication skills. Then there's the issue with the unused pump... somehow you prolly want to make it a dummy pulley.

Would be lots of work for something nobody will want to buy later.

Manual steering cars have different gearing in the steering than power steering cars, and generally have much narrower tires than modern muscle cars.

I had an MkI MR2 with a manual steering. It was a very light car with the engine behind and it was still a PITA to steer at slow speeds or parallel parking.
On a big car like this, I don't I am strong enough to steer this manually without a 30 inch steering wheel.

And if its a more connected to the road steering feel you are looking for... can do that with alignment specs, lowered, and sticky tires. Take a Z28 for a ride on some canyon roads. That's steering sweetness.
