American Racing Longtube Headers, MSD Airforce intake, tune, massive gains

Just wanted to share my mods with you guys and how much power I gained with only spending a few thousand. I first started with 1 7/8 American Racing Longtube Headers with Cats, kept stock mufflers but pulled the fuse in the trunk they are always open. Car felt more powerful for sure. Next I did some research on intake manifolds. Everyone across the board had good gains with the MSD Airforce intake so I bought it. Installed it in about 2 hours with no problems at all. Car felt more responsive and ran good. Lastly and most importantly, I went to my tuner to get all the parts tuned together in the computer. Our baseline dyno came in at 473 rwhp. Then the real fireworks started to happen, my tuner started working his magic with the laptop. Our final dyno pull laid down an impressive 548 rwhp, yes 548. For those of you who have put on Headers or an intake manifold and don't think a tune is needed, your dead wrong. The car pulls like a beast now and has great power anytime I tap the throttle. And the tune was the cheapest thing I paid for, $500. And this is all on crappy California 91 octane gas.

A 102 throttle body will give you a few more HP.

Are you comfortable with losing your entire powertrain warranty? I really want to do the same just terrified if I pop the motor on the track since I run the car so hard. If it was only street driven I think I would have no issues.

Very nice! Do you do any of the local car events? Would like to check out your car some time.

I'm not worried about the warranty z28rox, the LS7 is pretty solid motor. Yeah BubZ28 I do some of the local stuff depending on weather. Supercup I have LSFabrication in Santa Rosa do the tune for me. He is really good with the LS motors.

It amazes me the people that ask about warranty. I feel like if you can afford one of these cars you probably should have the "gotta pay to play attitude" although I come from the diesel world and guys come to me with 0-200mi and dump 10k into them and kill the warranty. The more people that abuse stuff and expect the manufacturer to fix it the more expensive the products become. Just food for thought.

Trust me I can afford my car paid in full. My concern is ruining the warranty if you are driving the car 10/10 on the track. I plan on modding my engine heavily AFTER the warranty expires why ruin that if you are running the car on the track not just car shows.

Thats why I paid the money for this car. Got tired of blowing engines in my vette. If this one goes GM can flip the bill. Will be modding after the warranty is up.
