From what many of my LEO friends have said over the years, policies vary per state and juridstiction. Oklahoma is the same way though, if you want to be able to carry in places that you cant normally carry then you need to have your department badge and CLEET card on you.

It is the same way here though, just because the officer is off duty doesn't mean they don't have to respond. If a crime is committed in front of them and they have their badge/gun on them then they have a sworn duty to respond and detain until a uniformed officer responds.

I am not associated with Law Enforcement in any manner but do have a Concealed Carry Permit ... The question is can I have or show a CCP Badge? If I am carrying, can I have a Badge or can I show it?

A CCP/CCL is completely different than a certified and sworn in LEO. While both can carry a weapon, the scope and boundry of what can be done with the weapon is entirely different.

Most states the CCW holder upon official contact with a LEO is required to advise the LEO they have a weapon on them and that they are licensed, then once the LEO directs the person to do so provide the license to the LEO.

As a CCL holder myself for over a decade now, I have zero desire for any type of "CCL Badge" as my hard license does what I need, and I have no desire to show a badge which could be misconstrued by some as the person being LEO.

I wouldn't. Your permit is all you need and you run the risk of misidentifying yourself as an LEO.

Can you carry a CCP badge.....sure its a free country. Should you carry a CCP.....imho NO!!!!!
You are not an officer and waiving a badge around is a real good way to catch an impersonation charge. Most people are going to take the time to read your badge, and with auditory exclusion they won't even hear you say it's a CCP. They will see a badge and assume you are a cop.
Personally I think all CCP/CHL/etc badge are pointless. Carry whatever state issued ID you have (if you state issues one for a carry permit) and that is all. If you are a constitutional carry state carry your DL and that's all. Those badges are asking for trouble.

I'm about to go back to my old slim wallet and just buy a separate badge/ID case and hope I don't forget it when I leave the house.

I use the STRONG leather wallet, with the credit card holder, also there is a huge issue with this the wallet it is very fat and you cant really sit on it.

My agency issues two badges one for the belt and a smaller one for the wallet. We are not required to carry handcuffs while off duty just the creds, badge and weapon.

I carry 2 badges off duty, one in a bi-fold wallet that's about an inch thick w/badge AND a badge on a belt clip. Why? I always have the wallet badge on me in case I'm wearing clothes that doesn't use a belt and the belt clip badge is next to my weapon, so if a civilian with anxiety issues sees my gun (it HAS happened) they also see the shiny silver badge right next to it and (usually) calm down.

I never understood the point of a CWP badge besides wanting to pretend to be a cop.

Yeah I always wear my badge next to my weapon if I'm in plain clothes. Florida is pretty pro 2nd Amendment but open carry is still illegal and people get jumpy.

Similar to what I have. It looks like the clear plastic flips on that one.

My wallet badge has a small clip, like the clip on your belt badge holder. The badge itself is flat. It is designed specifically for the wallet. My tri- fold wallet is less than a half inch thick. That could be due to my high income profession, LOL. Not sure what company makes it, I've had it for 26+ years now. Nice to see who some of the LEOs are on the site

I would also agree with my brothers above, carrying a badge of any sort out side of law enforcement is simply asking for trouble. And for those who open carry, it's your choice but if I was a criminal going to commit a crime and you were on scene, your weapon would be the first thing I would take and you wouldn't see it coming. If they don't know your carrying the element of surprise is on your side. Food for thought.

Just curious what do you LEOs here think about the stupid Black Lives Matter rhetoric/movement? Personally, I think it's a left-liberal ploy to break up the country and cause chaos! IMO the Police deserve the highest respect of any profession on the planet. How ridiculous certain groups have a lawless agenda aspiring to live in a society with no laws!

Thank you for your service.

I think a lot of them need to go for ride alongs just to see what it's like.

I've noticed all the ones who are invited to use of force training always end up changing their tone after.
