My supercharged 3.4L 4Runner is single exit exhaust with 2.25" pipe. This vehicle dyno'd at 240RWHP (300+ crank HP) with more left in it if I wanna get silly with the pulley. Others have added larger exhausts to their supercharged 4Runners and HP was not increased.

Based on the above, I doubt the V6 Camaro actually benefits from a dual exhaust and I'd be surprised if it's actually dual exhaust and not just two mufflers like my Accord.

If it is true dual exhaust and sounds good, COOL. I'd have loved something like that as a teenager.
This was a big debate on the charger V6 section of the forum, but track results and dyno tests proved that the V6 application benefited the most 2.25 piping X pipe based exhaust. No reason why the 3.6 on the camaro would not be the same case.

Who said anything about LED tails? I'm disappointed about the mirrors being fixed. Does anyone use fixed mirrors in 2010? Did they really save THAT much money on them? I agree with many here that GM better not overprice this car, if they do, they'll be slapping rebates on the hood in no time! Hate to be negative, but I'm a tad disappointed about a few things. It's still a hot car though. Also, what is the "steel heritage rally wheel package" that's available on the base cars?

You ask your typical Chevy salesman to explain VVT they'll look at you like a deer in headlights, or they'll make stuff up out of their rear end.

And who knows how many of these salesmen understand the importance of the Camaro, it's history and herritage, and how to treat a Camaro customer? Trust me, we Camaro customers aren't looking for a Cobalt, and we aren't undecided on our color and trim when we walk into the dealer. Camaro salesmen should be trained by GM, and should have specific authorization to sell Camaros. Not just on the features, performance, and every detail of the 2010 and beyond, but of the entire history of the car and what it means to America.

This is the last car besides the Corvette that you will find on a Chevy lot with a solid history and legacy over 40 years. Don't let incompetent salesmen ruin it.
My dealership won't let you sell Corvette's until you pass the certification and can basically impress me with your knowledge. I'm the Corvette and truck specialist and I train most of the guys at my place as far as product knowledge is concerned. I think with trucks and performance cars, if you don't know what you're talking about, you're not going to sell anything. The Camaro Heritage and history is long and detailed and you're right, most of the people that are supposed to be the "professionals" will not be able to answer your questions properly, and I agree that they shouldn't be able to sell the vehicles because they give the rest of us a bad name. I work hard to keep up with automotive trends and technology, but unfortunately, a lot of guys are in the business to make a paycheck, not because they love the product they are selling. Too bad...salespeople could have a better rep if GM would make a training session MANDATORY!

Good luck with that! Corvette owners have been griping about the terrible treatment considering what a Corvette is and how much it costs forever! Nothing has changed. That's one of GM's problems is that they don't know how to treat any customer and they certainly don't train their salespeople properly. I can say this with some knowledge, not just from being an enthusiast, but I was in the car business for 10 years and the domestics are the worst as far as training the salespeople on product. Ask a domestic salesperson to do a "walkaround" on a car, then as any import salesperson to do it and see if I lie.

And as someone else mentioned, trans cooler, maybe some structural reinforcements or something, etc....that's actually the sort of stuff I'm interested in. If I wanted wild modifications to the engine I'd just get some wild modifications done, there's no shortage of options. Doesn't matter, I probably won't even be able to afford a base model.

That doesn't describe a majority of potential Camaro buyers...It describes enthusiasts. They need to sell to vastly more people than the enthusiast population. They need to sell to people who are looking at Japanese, Korean, and German cars. They need to sell to people who are looking at Cobalts. They need to sell to people who didn't come in to look at Camaros and have no idea what their options are.

Too bad most of them won't know how to sell it, but as bullshit artists, they'll make something up. ("Most" does not include such salesmen as are present here, showing their enthusiasm and support.)

Ever bought a Saturn? A GM product and the best sales network there is... To them a Customer's satisfaction is their only concern. I have owned 5 Saturns and speak from experience.

And that Corvette test take many hours to complete...AND correct answers. I think the non-sfe dealerships don't really require the training.

I hope Chevy not only TRAINS, but CERTIFIES it Camaro sales staff - so people know who is worthy to talk to regarding the car....and the real good ones follow all the training...Heck there's an idea - start a CERTIFIED THREAD!

Can anyone do a photoshop mockup of the firstgen steel Rally Wheels on the 5th gen? I love those wheels and would love to see what they look like as 18s on the new car...

You're absolutely right. A couple of months back I went around window shopping on a nice Saturday afternoon. I stopped by to peek at the Civic Si and the salesman was very knowledgable and even knew about hop up parts like a supercharger that were available for that car. Very impressive.

Then I hit the local Chevy dealer to ask about the Camaro. The lady had NO CLUE AT ALL. ABSOLUTELY NONE. So I start looking around their showroom and stop at the Z06. She couldn't even figure out how to open the fuel door to see if it took premium! I knew it took premium but asked her to see just how much knowledge she was lacking. Needless to say they're off my Camaro purchase dealer list.

Anyone know of a "good" Chevy dealer near Nashville, TN?
