Is this normal?
So I was replacing my throttle body today and noticed this on the inside of the intake manifold, on both sides; is this normal?
The images are vertical for some reason so the rough spots in the smooth silver surface are actually on the left and right sides.

It is normal. The cast manifold only needs a small area for machining to the diameter of the throttle body.
