Damaged dealer loaner..

To my suprise, it hailed last thursday and i thought.... there was no dents on the roof of the camaro 17 they loaned me. Turns out, there are 3 spots where if you look closely... you can see them..

How would you handle this situation? My car should be ready by saturday and of course they ask for insurance.. whenever they loan you one.

Thanks.

Yea, im surely going to do this. Im also thinking they will hold me accountable for the loaner i borrowed from them... :/. I remember the service guy mentioning " bring it back same condition, otherwise we may file it on your insurance..." -_-

Generally any damage uncured when a customer is in possession of a loaner is the customers responsibility. At least that's they way it has been in my 30+ years of working at dealerships. If this hail damage is barely noticeable like you say they may not notice it. If they do they will probably go after you and or your insurance.

IF dent wizard is less expensive that your deductible then you should consider that. You are on the hook for any damage to the car while you were in procession of it. As said previously I would also check your car over to be sure! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, so if they try to get me for the hail damage and i look at my car whenever i receive it. It would be responsibility of the dealer for the hail damage if my car had some too?

Yes they are on the hook for any damage that was caused while they had procession of it. The hard part for you and them is to prove what happened and when. Did you do a walk around and sign a paper saying no damage like when you rent from Hertz ect?

Give the car back to them VERY dirty, I'm talking go drive it around a dusty field if the dents are as small as you describe they will never notice. Once you drop off the car and it leaves your possession and it goes unnoticed at the time you turn it back in it becomes their problem. At that point there is no way for them to prove the damage happened while you had it, it would never stand up in court.

If they do call you out on it, it would most likely only be a couple hundred bucks to have a paintless dent company pop them out, those guys can work wonders. Either way I would not sweat it.

This is what I would do... If they catch it, it changes nothing, if they don't, you're home free.
But I do question them holding you liable for weather damage.. Don't know...

Are you kidding? If it was your car, you would have to claim it against your Comprehensive Insurance... that's what it's for... I thought they were going to total my Camaro from the hail we had here last Monday, nope... almost $20k damage, I have to cough up $750 for my deductible.
