Cam check in thread
Over the past I'd say... 24 months, there have been a pretty large number of cams popping up in this section with overall successful installs.
How are they treating you now? Anyone got anything to report? I've read where a member said he swapped his springs out every 10,000 miles or so. So far so good? Any trouble, close calls, failures, etc? |

Im thinking about moving to a bigger/better cam later this year.

Lingenfelter GT1-1 (used), Lingenfelter beehive springs.
5K no probems. Well, I had one problem according to some guy in a parking lot. He told my wife as she was walking back to the car to have it looked at cause something is wrong, it shouldn't sound like that haha. |

EPS custom yet typical VVT 2 spec (mid 20's early 30's) with AFM. So large base circle with moderate lift 0.555" leveraged via rockers. Low stress setup, daily driven 100k on it, runs 11s with a wagon body.
Idles 550 smooth as a baby's bum.

Cammotion stage three nice and mild for now going over 10k, had a tsp 235 239 too sold it with 10k on it prestine from last engine..I break in a cam with br30 not stupidity and some guys thought train that spread a myth because its does not fail immediately like a flat tappet that falls on its face. These springs most likely should be swapped out at 25k on cams , that's to keep them fresh enough to not be worn the F out, some mild cam with beehives..well they are more likely to last longer and not fail on some high rev valve float or worse. Most people are smart enough to go with 8620 cores now as hey ....who knows if they do a break in which racers live on....

sub .60 lift cam, no racing, quality valve spring, no extra maintenance needed, good to go for the long haul. Like comparing a boosted car at 8 PSI, and one at 15, even if both have the same power plant and turbine. Different maintenance, different game, otherwise, different end game. Different games at play here. |
