Absolutely, its a modular three piece design for that exact reason. The first lid we designed was for the camaro/G8/cts-v because I happen to own a 5th gen. A simple change of the lid or snout it can be Taylored to almost any setup. The idea was buy your base LS3, LS7 or cathedral and pick your lid. The next lid one will be a lower profile for the corvette and 4th gen guys.

Definitely liking the design, and large plenum volume.

Runner length....clearly there are limitations there as to what is practical given what's happening up top, but it all looks very good

yes that plenum loves boost but even in N/A form the results are impressive I can spin mine to 8K and it doesn't fall off. There was alot of thought put into the tapper of the runners to aide in its lack of length. Plus it has added extra material or bosses cast into the inside runner should the owner want to plumb in a fogger or meth setup.

By the way, how long have you had the F-1X and how do you like it?
F1x is unbelieveable... spinning only to 62000 rpm of the max 72000 and still putting down 1300rwhp...
Love it!

How exactly did the runners fail ? As they are inside the plenum, boost itself shouldnt really affect them ? As they dont see any pressure differential ?
Very good question... I don't underst and it either... the split apart at the seams.... but 2 were split a bit... looks like it would be easy to epoxy up... but fast just won't sell me two... lol... and won't return my calls....

That intake has very short runners... I went with a precision metalcraft intake that extends the runners up into the plenum.... awesomeven piece for sure... but had to sell my first child for it....

I never even consider FAST intakes on FI builds. Just seeing the boost leak through the material in the past point's me away from them.
On higher hp builds we run a carb style base with a 90 or 102mm elbow.

I like that intake above.

Sounds promising . . . my F-1X is going in now and should be finished next week. You probably have seen my build thread in this section.

Do you have any pics you could post of the new intake you are going with?

Slowhawk, do you have any pictures of your higher HP builds with the carb style base you could post?
