2015 Z28 at local dealer
I was in for an oil change at a local Chevy dealer and spotted a 2015 Z/28 on the lot. What would you consider a fair going price for this model with A/C?
Disclaimer about the cars condition: it's been sitting on their lot for 2 years and has 14 nasty door dings and half took off chips of paint. There's etching in the clear coat from a quarter sized bird dropping, random light scratches all over the car, swirl in the paint, and damage to the front splitter. In 2 years time, I'm certain the interior shows light wear especially on the Alcantara. Also, the Trofeo's look really cracked from sitting through winters. The dealer claimed he can get them replaced at no charge under warranty. I previously mentioned I have OEM Z28 wheels with tires and would rather take the discount to buy the car as-is than have new Trofeo's. Is he full of it or can dealers really get these replaced at no expense from cracking? |

It sounds used. What's the mileage? Non AC in Houston is going to be hard to move, especially w/ Summer coming on.
As a reference point...NADA retail on a used non AC Z/28 w/ 3k miles and in good condition is ~ $45k. Minus Trofeos you are at $43k. Door dings can easily be fixed. Not sure how much it'll cost, however. The etching n the clear coat is a major blemish. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $40k. Curious about asking price?

It has A/C option and is up North. I'm relocating under military orders and was visiting the area. It's new with 140 miles but the car just hasn't been taken care of on the dealer lot.

Asking is $53k but I saw the same thing last June at a dealer in Houston asking $52k (perfect condition) and not moving. Given condition, I don't see $53k as a fair price. I plan to submit an offer but not sure what market value is on a Z/28 that doesn't have much collectible value.
I understand that considering a used undamaged Z28 is an option. The appeal to me of this Z28 is that no one has had the opportunity to beat on the engine or carbon ceramics. |

I didn't want to introduce my price bias but I'll go ahead and do that now. I plan to offer $46k + fees + ttl given condition to buy the vehicle. Does this number sound reasonable to others reading this thread?

I think $46k in as is condition would be my max price. I picked mine up for a little more than that with 177 miles, one minor blemish (which you cannot see unless you really look for it) and brand new dealer installed Trofeo's.
Best of luck, hope it works out for you! |

Honestly, I'd offer less considering the poor condition of the vehicle... and it's technically new! Also, I'm betting they want to get rid of it as it's been there just sitting.

They can get tires replaced under warranty - several have reported doing so here on the forum. I think $46k is a fair price with new warranty and CPO (extending your warranty. Likely they own the car so the new car warranty has already started, be sure to check into that. I would ask them to fix all the dings and the quarter size clear issue, put new tires on it and have it shipped to you for that price. Good luck with it, you will love the car! |

If you can get it at $46k w/ new Trofeos included, door dings fixed, etc. I'll be very surprised, but definitely worth a shot.
Also, just curious... how do you know they've had the car for 2 years? Keep us posted!
