I just put my car into the wall between turns 7 and 8 at Watkins yesterday doing an HPDE event. It Started pouring rain right before we went out on track and I hit standing water after accelerating out of turn 7, and immediately was sideways. Some cosmetic damage and a snapped tie rod. Sooo, needless to say,...I'm out. Luckily I had track insurance, so we'll see what the insurance adjuster says in the next couple days.

I was thinking of getting the Insurence, but the deductible is like 10-15 % of the agreed value of the coverage. So 30k is 3 grand for the deductible.
Costs 180-200 for 3 days.
So to make it worth your wild you have to go big and totally wreck the car.
I know the spot on the track, it's narrow. Did you hurt the Armco?
This is my worst nightmare. Cars broke and I have to deal with my wife! LOL

Yeah, insurance was $200 for the 2 day event I was in. I put a bluebook total loss value of $28k, so I'll be looking at a $2,800 deductable. The impact was square on the wheel and other than the snapped tie rod, nothing else mechanically seems to be damaged. I will need two new wheels, a tailight, 3 airbags(possibly a new Reccaro seat) and some light body work though. So I'll get my deductibles worth out of the claim. Everyone tells me the airbags will be the most expensive part of all the repairs. The girlfriend has been very consoling. Lol. She has a 2015 Mustang GT that she obsesses over and she knows how much I love my Camaro. I'm just starting to wonder if I can afford to keep up with this hobby.

Man, that sucks so much dude, sorry to hear it. Let us know how you make out with the insurance - I for one am interested to see how that shakes out.

Wow, that's a list Yes it's going to add up fast.
Paying for the insurance was a good idea. Luckily you got it I'm thinking all said it will be 8-12 grand. Airbags are all over the place price wise Hard to tell.
Glad your ok, and didn't get tangled up with the rest of the class.
