It's a much different place than when you were here I'm sure..... much more violent now than ever before. We have had a mass of growth most of which has come from the metro areas in the Northeast. Everyone wants to go around shooting each other it seems like. After getting the nickname Murdertown USA a few years ago the Feds started pumping enforcement money into Wilmington pushing a lot of the drug dealers and thugs down south. When I started with Dover 15 years ago, we may have had a shots fired complaint once or twice a week....now we get them several times a night on the average and there ends up being at least one to two shootings a week now. The agricultural culture of both Kent and Sussex Counties is eroding away with a lot more urban influence....it's a shame.

Really sad to see what's happening to that state. It's like all my childhood memories being killed. Wilmington is on the news every single night for a new shooting. But it is basically the same to what's happening to where I live. Condos and townhouses are being built everywhere trying to draw more tourism. More population growth, more drugs, more crime.

Yep..... and the grand Governor who about 10 years ago decided to make the middle of the State a "Growth zone" by allowing just what you are talking about has now lumped everyone into a small space with no infrastructure development.... It's becoming a real mess. Very few quiet places to get away.
Years ago when it was off season you could head to the beach and it was like a ghost town going down Rt 1. Now its busy every day all day....and when summer comes you can't move down there.
Their scheme of getting more people here for more tax money is doomed... they fail to realize that they don't collect enough to support what urban people are used to as far as services and then it drives the taxes through the roof.
Might be time to find some land in the hills of TN........

Yep that's about right.
Delaware in the summer is honestly no better than Florida. I actually think Delaware is more humid in summertime.

The last time I went to Disney, it was 4-5 degrees warmer down in FL than it was back here at home in the middle of July during that week... Imagine that, we came down here to be cooler, I said. lol
doesn't happen ofter, but it does happen. The humidity here is freakin' unbearable and honestly I do like a little snow once in a while at least when we get a decent storm...not this dusting here and a dusting there.... that just makes a mess.

and Fenwick... I agree, nights are better, but I just save all my vacation for the summer and don't work hardly at all.....

I do miss the snow but then again when I lived in DE I never had to drive in it or shovel it.

Orlando is pretty bad as far as heat. Its directly in the middle of the state basically.

Ewwww..... I don't even want to start on the smell under the vest. fukn nasty.... smells like ammonia or something on my tee shirt. yuk!! Febreeze helps but only for so long.

Normally when I work the front desk, I don't wear my vest or my full gun belt. probably not the most brilliant idea, but I'm behind bullet proof glass.

Washing both carriers today. Not even sure how to de-stink the panels.
