A friend of mine re wrapped my 13 1LE hood yesterday. Incredible job, I knew he was picky, but blew me away as his wrap job made the factory wrap job look like garbage.
My factory wrap itself was in good shape as I only have 12k miles on the car, but when I cut the hood last summer to install the extractor, a couple of the edges of the wrap became loose. Loose no more, went with high quality material and he did an incredible job wrapping.

Ortiz Custom Pods. The gap is because the install shop craked the bezel. Its a good quality made gauge but they were just to heavy handed with it. I had it custom painted to match rest of interior. The shop is doing the right thing and replacing the bezel with a new one. Be ready for at least a 4 week wait for the bezel because they actually make each one by hand. The gauges mount perfect in it but you have to use digital because mechanical are to too long and hose connections stick into bezel glass. Finally, I see your retired Air Force. Thanks for your service and coming from a 30 year retired Master Chief my hats off to you for beating cancer.

Let the wife take the SS to work and I took the convertible for a cruise up to Indiana to drop off some parts and got a $200 speeding ticket.

77 in a 55. My fault for not paying attention. Had never been in this area before, saw signs for toll bridge, looking for toll charge signs, looking for wallet, Trying to figure out where the hell I was and passed the cruiser on the left side. I had no idea what the speed limit was either. Last sign I'd seen was either 65 or 70. Trooper asked me if he had to worry about any weapons, guns, bazookas, that kind of thing. I laughed and told him I was trying to cut back on bazookas. Nice enough guy. Asked about the car (had a pile of boxed parts in the back). Can't be pissed about being tagged for 22 over.

Picked her up from the dealership. Changed out the Spectre filter for a K&N.

Have gotten a few messages about this so I will tell the story.

Most of you will remember that I had to have the front clip painted due to striking falling object out of a pickup truck. After getting it painted drove her home of course. Halfway home, she went into limp mode for the first time. I was like what the h@ll did they do?!! Let it sit over night, crunk it up and all was good. Drove it for a couple days, limp mode again. So I took it to the local dealer I got it from, City Chevrolet and they installed a new throttle body as that was the code it gave. Well, the position sensor code. All was good. Drove her a couple days and no issues.

Two Saturdays ago the wife and I were out just for a little round town cruise and guess what. Did it again! I immediately went to Advance, they checked the code and same one as last time....>WTF? So I called the dealership, scheduled a day to drop it off, picked up the loaner (it was last Thursday) and came home. On the way up there it did it once again. I switched it off at the light, back on when it went green. This time it started showing all kinds of lights. Service stabilitrac, traction control off, check engine, and two others. They were great about status updates and such. But they just could not locate it. They mentioned that the warranty might not cover because of the mods. So we read over the warranty info (I purchased a third party warranty to go with the factory one ). It clearly states that if the breakdown was caused by an aftermarket part, it would not cover it. But, it would cover anything that was not caused by it........Whew. That was good to know. Have heard so many horror stories.

End of the story (I hope) is they found the culprit. In one of the connectors, a wire had come out of the crimp and made contact with another and actually melted the two together.

So far she is running like a new one. Fingers crossed.

Finally got my Mickey Thompson ET Street R 305/45x17 tires in, mounted, balanced and put on the car.

Glad I ordered and paid for them when they were on back order. The price has gone up 10% at all vendors.

Now I am just waiting for the temps to come down a bit so I can go to the track. 95-100 degrees is not enjoyable.

I put on my 2011 SS convertible a set of pedal covers from Phastek. They look nice, but I busted my ass for about two hours bent over with my head under the dash. Of course, nothing is ever as easy as they say it is in the instructions. The video made it look SO easy. I was swearing up a blue streak trying to hold the nylon washer behind the pedal with locking pliers while I tightened the hex nut with an Allen wrench. Then for the gas pedal, I had to drill two holes for the bolts. Finally, they are on and look awesome. I'll attach some real photos later. Here's the stock product photo.

At least with the Drakes you don't have to drill through the hardened clutch and brake pedals, only the plastic throttle.

BTW, I tossed the metric bolts they included and bought SAE. Nobody had a 7mm allen wrench.
They sure look good though!

hey ..hows your ribs feeling lol .. I know putting some custom pedals is a combination of yoga and twister!! I really like those pedals as well I wish they would make a dead pedal to go with them.. do you know by any chance that they do?

Not that I saw. That foot rest is kind of hidden anyway. It doesn't seem to stand out like the clutch, brake and gas. Yeah, my chest is sore this morning. Good thing I got myself a nice soft cushion to kneel on in the driveway. Funny thing, in addition to the swearing that was coming from my mouth, I now understand why labor can be so high when it comes to working on a car. lol.

I almost forgot to mention this: If anyone else is going to install these, what the instructions DON'T tell you on the gas pedal cover is to NOT USE the washer. Using the washer does not allow the head to be recessed within the gas pedal cover, and more importantly, does not allow the bolt to fully extend through the pedal so that you have enough sticking out to place the nylon nut onto. With the washer off, the bolts are long enough. Also note that one gas pedal bolt is longer than the other. The longer bolt goes through the TOP of the gas pedal and cover, the shorter one for the bottom section of the pedal cover.
