Help with Nav system upgrading Non-Nav

So I bought a Nav system from a member on here and I am going to install it. I read somewhere that I need a wire to split the antenna for GPS and Satellite? DO I need anything besides the box behind the dash piece? Can I use my dash piece even though its Non-Nav and use the Nav voice or touch screen and keep mine as it is in better shape?

I was hoping to get more input than this. Is this that difficult?

Personally, I've made an active choice not to support myLink in any capacity as it is a complete waste of time, effort and money on any level, even if you obtain the unit free.

I also have the highest respect and for Gen5DIY, as he can and will resolve any issues users will have with that downgrade path.

For the price you're investing in MyLink you could had gotten an aftermarket radio with the PAC RPK5-GM4101 kit.

Much better choice.
Wished someone told me that before I dropped an arm and a leg on MyLink back in the days.

I am not sure that I understand. I already have MYLink the only thing that I was missing was GPS. I got the module behind the dash pretty reasonable and thought I just plugged it in and had all my functions and GPS. Is that not true?
