1LE Spoiler Scratches?

Does anybody else have the same issue as me? Any tiny thing that lands on my blade spoiler creates a very ugly, blackish grayish mark anywhere. I left a box on my trunk and my "friend" opened it while still on the trunk. It was just an ordinary shipping box and it looks like it left some marks all over the blade spoiler. Is there anything I can do about this? Why does the spoiler scratch so easily?

First suggestion would be to not place boxes on a car you care about.

Thank you IamR3D88. with a box as small and light as this one, scratches shouldn't have been a thing.

Are they actual scratches? I just installed one on my SS last night and it had the same white marks all over it from the shipping box... I wiped down with an apc and they vanished... I wonder if it is a coating or something that gets marred. Looks fine after the wipe down.

So I am clear, we are talking about an aftermarket blade style spoiler and not the 1LE spoiler?

I am referring to the OEM 1LE Spoiler.

I figured you were, but the OP referred to spoiler as a blade style spoiler, which does not describe the 1LE spoiler.

Is it matte like the hood? Matte paint is weird how it acts. I really like the chemical guys matte detailer. Perhaps just using a product like that will help?

No kidding! Good to know, i'll try a apc (just to be clear, that's All Purpose Cleaner?). Thanks for the advice. I'm actually really surprised such a light box caused what looks to be hideous scratches like that.

Sorry, i'm talking about the Stock 1LE spoiler. It could be blade style? maybe.. probably not.

Maybe it is matte? not too sure myself. I've always wanted to try Chemical Guys but there products are really expensive so i've stuck with Mothers.

It's not too bad, if shipping stinks, it's on amazon prime for a little more money.

This guy has the best advice. You have what could be considered a 1% car. Why on earth would you put a box on it? If you were driving a Camry, box away. You are not. Put the box on your workbench, the kitchen counter, your wife's jewelry box, anywhere but your car.

The only thing that has ever touched my spoiler is an Adam's double soft microfiber towel. I have no scratches.

1LE spoilers and splitters are raw plastic. You could try a very light polish. You would need to use a very soft pad or rag so you don't polish away the texture molded into the plastic. You should try a thorough cleaning first though as it could just be dirt caught inside of that textured finish that looks like scratches.

The front splitter is black plastic. The rear spoiler is painted matte black. Mine had some scuffs from the dealer when it was on the showroom floor. They thought it was colored plastic but when the new one came in its gray either abs or fiber glass. There's no buffing it ou it will cause it to become more gloss like than matte.
