You can check out, but you can never leave so be sure to post some track vids over here too.

Can't wait to hear a legit comp between it and the Z/28. Am sure it will be a fantastic car... congrats!!

And, as Urban Legend stated, happy to provide parking tips and for free too!

The Z looks sweet! I can't wait to hear your comparisons! You're one of the few real track rats on here, so I'm sure you will be able to lend an insightful opinion. I'm confident the 6th gen ZL1 is league's ahead of the 5th gen. And I'm glad some one on here has the same thoughts about creature comforts!

I noticed on the Gen6 ZL1 forum that you were taking delivery of your car on 6/16. Fist off, didn't take long for you to bale out of this site. Lol. Also.... share some pics over here too, but most of all... what's it like?!

I didn't want to spam a Z/28 forum with ZL1 talk. Here are 2 pics of the new ride. So far.. really nice and amazing comfort. Love the 10spd!

Looking good Stephen! I was curious why you chose the auto over the manual? Do you plan to use the car for both commuting and tracking and wanted the convenience of the auto? Was the new 10 speed hype piquing your interest in giving the auto a try? Were you just looking for every advantage you could have at being faster in track? Just wondering what factors influenced your decision to go with the 10 speed auto.

All of your questions can be answered "Yes". Other factors are 650hp and I am over the 6spd in general. Yes, I am lazy too.

Oh...and I am entirely sick of cars with higher hp (Porsche Turbos, etc) blowing by me on the high speed areas at VIR. In the tight sections, I can hang with them but as soon as the wheels are straight...BYE BYE. The ZL1 won't quite corner with the Z/28, but I will definitely try some R comps (most likely my stockpile of Trofeos). The 650hp should at least put me in a better position.

So I went into Hertz today for an Altima (for a few day beach trip) and left with a Gen 6 SS. I totally understand why you made the change. Auto is incredible, and I assume the 10 spd must be a standard deviation better and the creature comforts are a huge bonus. I'd even say the SS feels faster then the Z in a straight line. Brakes and cornering break down (traction control light was on when I did a few loaded turns) but if the ZL1 is 20 - 30% more car then its a Helluva value proposition! Congrats and enjoy! Hopefully we can run together at VIR (once I get my new brake pads!).

On paper, the SS is just as fast for sure. Me ('14 Z) and a local 2016 2SS owner have both run 7.90 bone stock in the 1/8th. The alpha platform is definitely huge upgrade over the zeta. Less weight, more stiffness in the frame... I'm sure owning a 6th gen will be a blast for stephen12zl1 and 2ssrs@gen5diy!
