My wife will only drive it if I'm in it too. Her choice.

Not married but if I was she wouldn't drive my car, she would drive what she paid for...Somethings in life are not meant to be shared...

My wife always preferred the family car. She didn't want to peel tires or corner at the limit of adhesion. She just wanted something solid, reliable, safe, and roomy. With the convenience of an automatic and power everythings.

I enjoy my 2-door cars. I love to rip off the line, embarrass a smug Mercedes owner when I swing a turn and am a block away while he is still trying to negotiate the corner. I learned to hate automatics and have no problem rolling the windows down.

So she rarely drove my cars, not because she couldn't, she could handle a stick as well as anyone, but because she didn't care to.

Whenever we went out, with or without the kids, we would take her car and she was more than happy to let me drive.

Other than the family outings, I had my car, she had her car.

I am curious to see how this one plays out. When I was married, I took my wife out to a large industrial complex parking lot one weekend and asked her to drive my Foose Mustang. Those that know me know I am as picky and meticulous with keeping my cars clean as anyone else on here. So she drives it and out of this tremendous parking lot that just goes on for almost forever, she finds the one massive puddle of run off out of the whole dry parking complex. Hmmm.... she never drove it again for some reason. Maybe part of why she is my ex wife too... LOL

Fast forward a number of years and my now GF refuses to drive either the Foose or the Camaro. When I ask why, she says she knows they are my babies...lol Says she knows how picky I am for even finger prints and had rather just make sure she is not the cause of something. Hmmmm...

This is something else I don't understand nowadays. I see so many couples that have separate bank accounts. They each pay their own bills, and pay half of household bills. Guess I'm just old or old fashioned, but what happened to being married jointly.

I'll bet they're all married jointly when it comes to filing taxes, lol.

I made my wife drive the SS a couple days so in case of an emergency she wouldn't be scared of jumping behind the wheel. Later that week she said the car made a dinging sound on the freeway some times and she didn't know why.

I set me speed warning to 100.....

Lets just say shes is camaro banded for a while.

that's hilarious, I wish I would've set the speed indicator. I don't think mine would ever speed.

I taught my wife to dial 911 in case of emergency.
I feel much safer that way.

While there are some women who do drive muscle cars, the FACT remains that the percentage is low compared to males. Just look at the ratio of males to female members on this forum. So, it's not about a skewed mentality, it's about facts. In my family alone, those members that have muscle cars and motorcycles, not one woman wants to drive them. It's a male dominated hobby, which is not to say that woman are not capable, but that the desire is low.

Before we bought our Camaro we had 2 trucks. We traded mine in due to owing less and basically I took over hers. So now she refers to the vehicles as ours instead of mine or hers. But the Camaro is her daily since she commutes. Been together 15 years.... married for 13....
