Ted:

While my car is in the shop for some upgrades I plan on switching my 1:1 rear cog on the TVS2300 to a OD cog and also swapping my hi flow cats (kook Lt's) to kooks catless.

My tuner wants me to drive about 500+ miles break in period before getting on the dyno and tuning... telling me it is fine on current conservative tune as long as I'm not punching it and getting into boost. (Ls3 with tvs2300, stage 1 PD cam, FIC850cc, ZL1pump, FPCM, CAI, 550rwhp at 6psi)

Question: Am I safe driving with the added pulley and no tune update? until the break in miles.
Driving to work stop n go? longer freeway trips?

Hello,

I would refer you to your tuner with this question, I could not possibly know what your tuner provided for a base tune.

There is no break in period unless you have a new engine.

Unless you data log you will not know if the tune is safe or not.

Ted.

That would qualify as a new engine.

What read gear for a YSi install?

What do you think 10-12LBS with meth, YSI kit, ported heads and cam on an M6. Stick with 3:45? Or, step up to 3.70 - 3.91??

Cheers,

It depends on what the car will be used for.

The more power you have the less gear you need.

Mainly 1/2 mile events in the southeast with an occasional HPDE and 1/4 mile blast upon my return to the US. I was thinking 3:70 since that is what is on the ZL1. Right now even with a cam NA it seems the car is too long between the shifts at full throttle. Seems like the gearing should be closer together.

Leave the 3.45

It depends on how bad the IAT is, how much boost you are running, how much compression you have, what cam you are running, etc.

There is not a fixed number.

A supercharger system with no intercooler will benefit most from water meth injection.

A supercharger system with an Ice box running 10PSI may not see anything or even a loss in power.

Ted.
