Removal of Vinyl Stripes
I know this has probably been asked before, but I wanted to get fresh answers to this question.
What, in your experience, is the best way to remove vinyl stripes from the Camaro? Someone in one of my earlier threads mentioned using a heat gun, but that makes me nervous as if I use too much heat I may damage the paint. Someone else mentioned using a 3M Eraser Wheel, but from what I can see that is used to clean up the adhesive once the stripe is off. There are also some vinyl stripe remover compounds that spray on, but again I don't know how they would affect the paint. Thanks in advance for your answers!

Heat gun, wave it back and forth about 10 to 12" away and it will peel right off.

If there is a bit of sticky left, goo-gone works great. I deleted the rear bowtie and it cleaned it up quick and easy, paint looks great.

I used a heat gun on mine, but in all honesty it took so little heat a hair dryer would likely be hot enough.

I used my heat gun on #2 of 6 settings, and I actually had better success with out it on 85 degree day in the afternoon sun! Getting the glue off is the worst, if you pull straight up, near 90 to the car, it left less glue. If I pulled at a steep angle, near parallel to body, lots of glue left behind. But hey I'm an amateur what do I know! Good luck!

Let it sit in the sun. Then have at it!
