Great info! I have been looking into the safety side of things as well. I guess you walk the line of keeping a street drivable car vs basically a race car. Would a setup with seats, harnesses, and harness bar be a legit compromise? If so, what seats do you guys run?

Do you daily drive your car? If you do, I wouldn't suggest doing anything with your seats. Having to deal with a harness and race seats is going to be a major pain in the ass. It also may make you less safe on public roads if you do get into an accident if you aren't using the 3 point belt that comes with the car. I haven't done anything to the interior of my car. I haven't really had the need to. I may try to pad the areas where my knees brace against the door and the center console one day.

You'll want to go to a shop that has a number of different chairs for you to try out. They're like shoes - you have to try them out to know which one fits you properly.

The chair you want is the one in which you feel most comfortable, and which you can still afford.

That's been my experience, anyway.
