Brake squeal help!

So about four months ago now I replaced the brakes on my V6 with Brembos from an SS. I replaced the calipers, brake lines, brake pads, and brake rotors will all new parts. Within the last month or two I've noticed that the front brakes will sometimes squeal horribly when braking lightly at low speeds, such as when backing up, and coming to a stop sign/light. They never squeak when I brake hard, brake at higher speeds, or when I apply more pressure to the pedal. It's to the point where I don't even want to drive the car because it sounds so bad. The pads are ceramic, still like new, and aren't anywhere close to the wear bars so that's not it. I even took it to a shop and the best answer they gave me was to just replace my pads with a different brand. I might just do that and see but before I spend that money.. What am I missing here? Any ideas I should investiagte? I can't for the life of me figure out what's making contact, or why.

This is normal brembo dude. They prefer to be mashed instead of feathered.

big brakes, big stop, big squeal. Helps to do a break in process with brand new pads to seat them properly, but none the less squealing pigs.

I've noticed that these cars also like to build up brake dust and squeal. Every now and then I take mine apart and clean everything.

Huh. I would have never guessed it's normal. I always feel like I'm driving a beater around when I pull up to places and everyone turns to see what the hell made that horrible squeal. Yeah, the pads I bought have the rollerskate weights, and I did a proper break in.. Maybe I'll try the trw ones suggested. Thanks all.

High performance brakes make noise because the pads are harder. Race car pads make your SS pads completely quiet by comparison. Relax and enjoy what are among the best combination of performance and street-ability in brakes on a Modern Muscle Car.

My OEM pads never made noise on my SS. Did you bed the pads proberly as per instructions? Did you use brake grease on the back of the pads? If not, try that since it's the cheapest option. It could just be that your particular rotors and pads are a noisy combination.

I sometimes let my SS sit for weeks. The rotors have rust on them. I spool it up to 50+MPH and stomp them. And I mean stomp them, like you are trying to stop a gorilla. Don't worry, you won't break them. Just check your rear view first because if an Audi is behind you you will be in trouble.

Next time you roll up to the florist they will be quiet. Until you buy the flowers and then a lisp will come out.
