Question Transmission service

I will be moving out to Cali in the very near future. With that said I will be driving from NJ to Cali, My mileage is around 42K and was wondering if I should have the trans serviced prior to the trip across country. I figured I would get the right answer from here then a service tech just saying yes to make money if not needed. This chart is in my owners manual, but was seeking advise from the experts

I did trans at 35k. Not a bad idea. Do it well before your trip to make sure no issues

I'd change my oil before the trip. Your mileage is still pretty low. My question...how hard do you drive it? Is it just a daily driver? You keep regular maintenance? If irs just a well maintained daily driver...I'd wait till I got there and then swap out all fliuds.

Is it just a drain, refill, filter swap?

Where is the filter located on the 6L50 ?

Mine is a daily driver, I do not drive it hard mainly highway mileage. I change the motor oil every 4000K. I used to the first year change it every 3K, but was told that I did not have to change it until every 5K so I split the difference.

Changing the filter and fluid at 50K for a normal use Camaro is routine maintenance IMO. Race it hard on a road course or drag strip, far more frequent service is in order.
