Brake Upgrade for 2011 LS v6

I was wondering if someone has any suggestions for a brake upgrade over a stock 2011 LS v6 system. I want some cool looking GREEN painted (why does it seem like nobody makes a synergy-type green caliper?) superior brakes for my car but the only things I can find cost $2,000-3,000 just for front or rear. Is there anything that's better than stock that doesn't cost me $5,000-6,000 for all four wheels?

Also, if I upgrade, do I need new brake lines, fluid, master cylinder? And if so, how easy is all of this to install myself?

Not sure if you are dead set on GREEN but for the record... I picked up a set of Brembo's powder coated red calipers from a 2014 SS 1LE for $400 shipped to my door. Came with used rotors, pads, lines (~30k). Expecting to get through the summer with them and then reevaluate. I'm having them installed tomorrow (believe it or not) by the dealer in Lynchburg, Virginia (Pinkerton). I also bought a master cylinder for $60 from a SS and get $15 back (core charge) at a local salvage yard.

These are a direct bolt on replacement to the V6 and require no modification. I believe the rears do require minor modification of the dust shield but I'm only doing fronts at this point. We will see how much the dealer will end up charging me for install but I believe the quoted around $300. I know this is not a super challenging process to swap the brakes and many members have done it themselves but I currently live in a loft and don't feel like tackling this project in the parking garage.

I would give up the GREEN DREAM and find a set of used Brembo's in the classified section on here if you're not trying to spend big money. You can always have them powder coated afterwards if that's what you wanted to do.

Yes I agree with the poster above. Get you some brembos from a seller here, then if you want them your color, ship them off to the powder coater guy on the forum. You can check if he is still on here. He can paint them what you want. You send him yours and he sends you a pair, rebuilt and powder coated your color.

Or you can get a paint system like G2 and they can send you your paint color I believe and you can paint them yourself.

You have options if you have any questions feel free to PM me. I actually upgraded to the brembo system and used the G2 paint and painted mine red. I also got some high heat decals (CHEVROLET and BREMBO) and put them on.

Good luck

For the record... just picked my car up from dealer. 330$ total including fluid.

HUGE difference in braking and pedal feel. Even with half worn used breaks. Super happy with this upgrade!

I just did an upgrade on the fronts - Cadillac ATS Brembo fronts and rotors, plus rear rotors. Hard to be the price for new parts. It's all shown here. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492499

Will SS rotors fit on the axle? Assuming I have 20" wheels of course.

Also, do I need new brake lines and a new master cylinder or can I reuse them?

Did you read what I wrote above?!

DIRECT BOLT ON REPLACEMENT.

Rears will require the dust shield to be trimmed. Thats it. Fronts require no modification whatsoever. Master cylinder is not required but recommended. Pick one up from salvage yard for fifty bucks. You will need SS lines but they should be included with calipers.

Or......you can simply paint them the color you want. I did mine with a rattle can 3yrs ago....still looks new. Get you some new Brembo decals on Ebay.
But yes, the Brembo upgrade is probably the cheapest/easiest route.

Brembo

I just swapped out my Brembo's for a different set painted red. If you want the Brembo calipers I took off I would sell them for $400 shipped.

so, would these work on a 2013 Camaro LFX with 18" wheels. I just got some 18" aluminum wheels off a 2015 or would they need to be 20" rims to work?
