Hey guys, don't forget that there is a 295/35 PSS too.
And if you look at the actual tire specs, the 295/35 PSS would be darned close to the same width as the 305/35 GY on the rear 11" rim. The section width should get just a touch wider on the 11" rim vs the 10.5" rim that the tire was measure on.
I'm going that direction rather than the giant 315/35.

I put the Michelins on my car two days ago, 295 in front 315 in back (keeping them in proportion). They seem quieter than the Goodyears on the road but no equipment to actually measure that. When I launched in them today, got no tire slip in first and a slight sequel shifting to second. For me it will come down to tire life and how they handle at autocross as to whether or not I switch back to the Goodyears next time. I put 15K on the Goodyears, but had no grip for launches at the end of their life. They performed well at autocross (point and shoot) and I will know better next month at the North South Shootout at Roebling Road how well these Michelins will perform.

Is it possible to get a pic of the back tire but at an angle that would show the sidewall and the resulting shape?

For those with ZL1 wheels who have the MSS in 295/315 or 285/315, can you take a picture like this and specify your camber values?
For front and rear if possible
Thanks a lot.

They do look thicker to me compared to the Goodyears, but I think it is an illusion from the GY's little lip that sticks out on the side of the tire.

The last three pics are just to show that they don't stick out from the car. Well, the front ones kinda do, but those are factory size, so the GY's did that too.

One of my fellow club members has an SS with the same tires, but he lowered his, and his tires actually tuck into the wheel well a little bit, and he had to do 285/35zr20's all around and said the 315's wouldn't fit under his. Like I said though, mine is stock height, and I don't plan to change that so I went for the wider contact patch lol. Michelin doesn't make this tire in a 305 which is the stock size, but as you can see the 315's work just fine.
Hi. Damien here. I bought to order some new tires for my ride. I see you got stock suspension on your Z and had to 315 pilots in the back. If I did that do you think there will be an issue lowering my ZL1. Cause I also have a1.4 in lowering kit that I was about to install. Thanks

I dont think you will have any problems, but I didn't have the lowering kit on mine, so you may need to double check

This is probably the set up that I would go with. Do you have pics you can post?

Here's my MPSS 295/315 setup on my stock suspension during compression at the bottom of the sink hole at NCM two years ago, I hope this helps you. I usually run my stock Goodyear F1's at HPDE track events and not the MPSS since they are my daily tires and they last longer because they are not as sticky as the factory Goodyears.

This is Mark's Pfadt lowered ZL1 in the fore ground with the 295/315 and my car with the same tires but on stock springs in the back ground at NCM.

^^^ Looks nice. Is the rear tire sidewall rolling under in the track pic; or it is just the angle? I will eventually switch to the Michelin 315/35/20, but I was worried the sidewall would stick out too much and lose some handling because of sidewall flex.

It may be just the angle but I must say for our heavier car's, these tires are not as good as our stock Goodyear's on a road course but they would be a good choice for autocross or a wet road course day.
