CAI install question
I just installed a Cold Air Inductions system in my SS.
Two issues I'd like some input on: - The CAI metal intake tube is in contact with the radiator hose near the filter box. Is this an issue? - the hose clamp nearest the throttle body connection is tight but thereally is still a little bit of play. Do I need to crank that clamp more? |

Probable need some pictures but I would loosen everything up and make sure the tube is seated and see if you can get some clearance from the radiator hose also.

On mine, I have the clamps pretty tight so that I cannot twist anything by hand. You really don't want *unfiltered* air getting in because it would be bypassing your MAF sensor and could make your engine run either rich or lean... As far as for things touching, you really don't want that happening so as mentioned before, unloosen everything and connect it again without things touching..

Appreciate the input. I tried the loosen-resettle process a couple of times at install. I will try it again. Easy enough to do. I'm thinking maybe the radiator hose needs to be changed out or perhaps cut it down at the radiator just to pick up 1/4 or so clearance.

Loosening and really tightening the hose clamps with minor adjustment seems to have given me abut 3/16" clearance. Also moving the clamp closest to the throttle body allowed me to really crank it down. Thanks for the advice. Note that the slightest contact between a tool and the intake tube will scratch or ding it.
