Hello from Las Vegas

Hi folks, I just picked a Victory Red 2013 ZL1 6 spd w/ 56 original miles. I tried to get it smogged and it hadn't activated certain setting so the test was rejected. It's that new!!!

I'm planning to have it be my highway monster when I turn up the boost. On that note a AGP 57/62 ball bearing .82 exhaust housing twin turbo kit, on e85, with 3.23 gears, meth, carb intake with a 90 elbow, 1000cc inj and new clutch is the route I'm going.

So far so good I'm enjoying every chance I get to drive it!

Pretty impressive, was this at a dealership or private owner?

Nice car but lets talk about these mods...

You're ditching the stock setup and going turbos eh? Do you have a power goal?

The LSA with the stock blower with some mods done to it (Pulleys, intake, cam, E85, Meth, Heads, headers, throttle bodies, snouts, ported blower etc.) can hit 800 RWHP. Depends what you want I guess. If you're purpose is strictly racing, then turbos are decent. (However the time-to-spool can lose you a lot of races vs. slightly less powerful car with a roots). There's some turbo ZL1s on the LSA short block and they're around the 800-900 RWHP number but they spent a helluva lot more time and money to get it there than bolt ons/cam/heads...And to be honest, the LSA short block can't take more than 800 wheel for a long period of time so it kind of goes without saying that if you want 800+ RWHP, don't bother with a LSA Short block, just start it right with a forged build (416, 408, 427, LSX or LS3 etc.).

TL;DR - If you want the power that turbos can provide that the stock blower cannot make (North of 820ish), don't bother using the stock LSA short block, they're good for high 700s to low 800s for a decent period of time.

There are many tuners/shops that won't let you make over ~650 RWHP because they believe it's unsafe. Some are higher. Some don't care and build whatever you say.

There's also other problems with that kind of power and a Camaro, like Traction...(Forget about it)

Weight...(4100+ pounds)

Size...(The aero field of a Camaro is significantly bigger than things like Vettes)

Racing imports/Corvettes/Vipers and even Mustangs that are a few hundred pounds lighter, you'll need 100-300 more HP then your opponent in one of those cars to over come those 3 things.

Wow, a real museum piece find.

I found a Boss 302 a year ago with 200 miles on it. I bought, drove it about 50 miles total in the 6 months I owned it. It was such a low mileage pristine car, I could not bring myself o be the one that put miles on it.

While I really appreciate a pristine example such as this, I just can't understand
how someone could own a car like this and not drive it ???

Enjoy that baby while you can !!!!

You never know this person could own a couple of these cars. I know for a fact a couple different people on this forum have two ZL1's and another one own three ZL1's plus a Z/28.

He was a Doctor who built a company which staffed the local hospitals with ER doctors. He has a 2013 Viper with 2200 miles, a 2015 Hellcat Challenger with 15 miles, a Alfa Romeo 4c and his house was 15k sq ft with an attached glass sided RV garage where the cars are stored.
