Because laws are written by people and people are oftentimes strange, it’s of no surprise that the laws themselves can be weird. Especially automotive law. Some of them are really dumb...

We all know about the absurdity of the Chicken Tax. Im talking about bizarre, local automotive laws in your area that the rest of us don’t know about.

So, what’s the deal with your neighborhood? Window tint too dark? Too much camber ? Loud exhaust? Too much underglow?

This thread will be 100% more useful if the respondents included a link to the statute in their state, so we will know the difference between an actual codified law and hearsay.

From what I found, no citations for actual law, but found on at least 2 websites (whatever), in Oklahoma:
Cars must be tethered outside of public buildings.
Tissues are not to be found in the back of one’s car.
It is against the law to read a comic book while operating a motor vehicle.
also, apparently, we just made Tattoos legal in OK in 2006! So we are a little behind!

In Cape Coral it is illegal to park a truck on the street in front of your house or in your driveway.
If you tie your elephant, yes I said elephant, to a parking meter then you must pay for it just like a vehicle.

There are several more that don't have to do with automotive that are hysterical. Some of them are:
On Thursdays it is illegal to fart in public after 6pm.
It is illegal to shower naked.
Oral sex is illegal.
When having sex the only position that is legal is missionary.
Its illegal for a guy to wear a strapless dress.
In Destin its illegal to set off a torpedo.
In Miami its illegal to sell oranges on the sidewalk.
Its illegal to molest a porcupine, a Key deer, and a trash can. (I guess everything else is ok to molest.)

Also, in OKC, it is illegal to use factory, or any other, Fog Lamps! I remembered that I got pulled over twice for this years ago!
