My muffler shop charged me $100 to delete the mufflers and then $100 to splice in my Magnaflow Tru-X pipe and cut the stock resonator out.

For what it is worth I've been doing a little shopping around and the last shop I went to for an estimate said it would be $320. That's the cost after I supply the x pipe and the tips and they do the labor for cutting the resonator out, welding in the x pipe, cutting the cans off, and then bending pipe and welding that on with the tips.

I run a bizz mainly doing remote starters. When customer supplies their own parts, I make more money because I charge more. Main reason is that it almost never fails the customer part is messed up or takes longer to mess with.
On the original post, more than likely the muffler shop is supplying regular tubing or at best aluminized tubing. Virtually all aftermarket kits are stainless
