TH400 Spraying Transmission Fluid

Need help...my built Proformance TH400 has been giving me fits and I believe that it's leaking through a failed reverse light switch. At least that's what apparently failed the last time it was in the shop a week ago. They replaced the switch, test drove it, and handed it off to me. It took me about 30 minutes of in town driving for the tranny to start spraying on the exhaust again - looked like a crop duster. The transmission has a cooler but I'm getting the impression that it's overheating (sorry, no tranny temp gauge yet) because the engine is running cooler and the fan doesn't turn on.

Ambient temp was 77 deg and it didn't spray for the most part when I took it easy on the throttle. However, smoke show when running 25 mph in 1st gear, no load. Confused!

Any advice would be appreciated.
