If your priority is mpg and the fuel bill, you'll never be happy in your SS. An econo car will typically be cheaper to operate than a muscle car but you'll have to accept tradeoffs. We can't really tell you what your priorities are. If they are the same as when you bought your Camaro, you'll be unhappy with the change. If your priorities have changed, dump the SS for an MPG miser.

it almost sounds like youre starting to see why i drive an RS instead of an SS.on my beach trips and long hauls i get around 28 mpg and my beach stuff fits in the trunk.

It will also, more than likely, be as quiet as a church mouse, which, to me, is sad. But that's where the future is headed. Clean, quiet and high performance are on the way. People will look back at our old, loud muscle cars and laugh. Both noise and air pollution. But I must say, I like the roar!

I keep thinking of that song by the group RUSH called Red Barchetta. It's a great song about a guy way off in the future who finds his uncle's old sports car in his barn. He takes it out on the road only to come across "A gleaming Alloy Air car two lanes wide." He runs a race with it and returns to his uncle's farm to dream with him by the fireside of the old muscle car days. Great song!
and pretty much true.a v6 camaro or mustang will run right with most of the old musclecars,be more comfortable, and get better mpg as well.dont believe it?compare a 2017 RS to old road tests of any big block musclecar you can find.about the only thing it wont beat would be an old shelby cobra or 427 vette.of course,it wont be as fast as the new camaro SS,which would probably pass up every old musclecar you could think of...but get beaten by a tesla.

My main complaint with the Focus was lack of trunk room (had to leave my beach chair behind which actually fits no problem in the Camaro). Number two complaint, you lose a lot of comfort going from a full size vehicle but it was OK to drive I guess.

But man the gas savings. I have a two hour daily commute (round trip) and the gas savings would be so huge that it would be like getting the car for free compared to what I'm paying now in my V8s, lol!

Yea, I've never owned or driven a economy car before and never knew the gas mileage and savings was so dramatic! But the number 1 thing I like about my Camaro is the seats are like the most comfortable ever! (well, at least the front seats that it, heh.)

Can someone talk some cent$ into me before I go ahead and do something crazy like trading in my 2SS on a Ford Focus? Or I can give you guys my Paypal and maybe we can get like $5000 in donations so that I don't have to worry about gas prices for a while, what do you guys think, hehe.
I enjoy getting in my 2016 Honda CRV after driving the Camaro. The gas it uses make me see just how bad my car is on gas. But I didnt buy my car for mpg....now im on the verge of buying a 2017 Nissan Titan Pro 4X. What am I thinking lol.

My SS gets the best mileage of any vehicle I ever owned. I always had V8 trucks and my boat get 1.5 MPG at 33MPH. I can burn 200 gallons in 9.5 hours with a fuel burn of 21.5 GPH. So it does not phase me.

Keep the Camaro and buy a Kia Forte for commuting/daily duties. They are VASTLY cheaper than a Focus, less prone to electronics issues and have a better warrantee.

I love my little Kia and it keeps down the wear and tear on my Camaro so I can spend more time thrashing it around the track.

I bought a 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring a few months ago. So far overall mileage for 5,000 miles is 30.2mpg. Rides good and very quiet, lots of standard equipment. I like it..
My wife's VW Beetle gets almost 40 MPG on the highway, plenty peppy with the 1.8 Turbo 4.
