His request approved, the ABC News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight. He was told a twin engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport.

Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hangar. He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go.' The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off. Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over thXXevalXXley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.'

'Why?' asked the pilot.

'Because I'm a photographer for ABC Cable News,' he responded. 'And I need to get some close up shots.'

The pilot was strangely silent for a moment. Finally he stammered, 'So, what you're telling me is .... You're NOT my Flight instructor??'

The SS was always considered the top of the line dog, yeah it went away for awhile through a couple decades and made its return back on scene in the late 90s. Remember that a Z28 with the SS SLP option was still faster then the Z28 in the late 90s. But in no way was the Z28 EVER considered the top dog. The Z28 option was what the track pack is to the mustang.

Go back and re-read the bold, I said it went away. If you want to consider anything fast from after 1971 up to 1987 because thats when the government killed anything with large displacement and power. And yes the SS SLP option came with 20(Looking at the 97 model) more stock hp so spec wise yes its greater in power. For someone to have been into Camaros for decades you sure are missing a lot of information.

If you want to insult me or Z28's, i think you should create a new thread. This isn't the thread for that.
And by the way, the advertised horsepower ratings for the LS1 Z28's and SS' were made up. The Z28 had more than 305 hp, and yes i've seen dyno tests of Z28s and SS's .

I'm not insulting you or trying to change the thread. Remember you brought up the Z28 and racing first. I'm just trying to give you correct stated information.

Make it fast and don't care about what dumb girls say, I tell them their v6 mustangs are cute, when they try to egg me on on the highway, I then proceed to show them my tail lights and ask "who has the cute slow car now?"
