Replacing Battery question

I just bought a new battery for my 2011 SS because it is getting old and doesn't start quite as fast as it use to.
My question is can I connect a battery via jumper cables to the front of the car then carefully remove the battery in the rear and replace it? Yes I know the cables will still be live I must be careful but I really don't feel like resetting everything.
Has anyone tried this?

your presets will still be there in memory the only thing you have to change is time and date.

They make a thing for that. You put a 9 volt battery in it and plug it in your cig lighter and it keeps all your presets. Lot safer than jumper cables

I would not do that.

It will reset all your emission monitors. If you have an emission test due soon, do that first. It can take some time and miles for a couple of them to go to Ready again.

You may have to re-index your windows. Your TPMS may all be blank until you drive for a few blocks.
That's all I remember doing. The radio was fine.

I wouldn't use a battery if you decide to keep things powered. A trickle charger like a Battery Tender should do it.

I just did it last fall,
Connected a battery tender to the cables before removing them from the old battery,
No issues at all, easy peasy

Wasn't bad at all. I used a battery tender per your suggestions. I just have to take the old one back and get My $18 core deposit back.
