Clutch Reservoir
For those of you that have added a clutch reservoir, what did you use the cap the outlet on the brake reservoir?

The kit I ordered from JDP came with something that looked like the above vacuum cap. It had a ring clamp supplied with it, but I couldn't get it over the barb from the brake reservoir. I ended up using the cap with a worm-gear hose clamp.

Great, thanks!
I have plenty of clamps, will stop by Autozone or Reilly's. Time to do this mod, the clutch reservoir and bracket have been sitting in the back of my car long enough!. LOL |

A) It is very important to use the correct nipple cap material that will stand up to brake fluid or it can dissolve and leak.
EPDM Rubber is compatible. -OR- B) For about $25 you can swap in the OEM Camaro master cylinder reservoir that has the factory nipple port closed off same as what is on the automatic Camaro. ... [I've done both methods, switched to "B" when I found a bargain.] Ron

Yes, I have been considering plan B for sure. I just didn't want to get into the system right now. Car is a 2012 and still has under 30K miles on it, so I don't really drive it all that much. Figured if I just pulled the line and capped it, I wouldn't have to bleed them and all. It's not a daily driver and I have no time or money to get to track days I love so much so it was just a quick something to do when bored.
But the RIGHT way is to change the reservoir as you noted.

Yes you want EPDM rubber caps. Dorman claims their caps are EPDM but only lists some of them as EDPM ...could be the others are Buna rubber which is not recommended for brake fluid. NAPA has caps that are listed as EPDM

When you change to the new brake reservoir, you don't have to bleed the brakes. The fluid never gets lower than the top of the master cylinder. A friend of mine did the cap and it was leaking, so he then put on the A/T master cylinder.
