Not trying to sound like I am hating on the ZL1/1LE but that car just has too much going on with that gigantic wing and those ...things... on the nose. I get it .. they are all there for a purpose but they just kill the looks of the car for me. I just can't make myself go buy something that cost that much money , that I find just ...well, ugly. I know its numbers, and it absolutely smokes my z/28 on any track anywhere. But thats ok , to me there is just something the 5th gen Z/28 has that no other Camaro since 1969 has had. That car has the look , the suspension, the engine, the slash...it has it all imo. I am totally happy with my/our cars as is. I also am proud of this new Camaro for all it does for the price. It's truly an amazing car.

Although the Gen 6 ZL1 1LE is no joke - and all respect for it's capabilities - nothing can beat the hunkered down stance of the Gen 5 Z/28.

The 5th gen sounds better hands down. It will have less maintenance issues and most likely be more reliable than a car with a super charger.

As for looks? People still stop and stare at my Z/28. So which one looks better is a matter of opinion. In the long run I think our Z/28 looks will hold up. I mean even the base 5th gen looks good, while the sixth gen... well the only one I would even think of buying is the ZL1 LE.

I think the 5th gen Z/28 is much more aesthetically pleasing than the ZL1/1LE for many of the reasons cited above. Also, for me the Z channels all of the best of the first gen Z/28 but improves on those cars exponentially thanks to modern technology. The Z/28 was not the top dog in terms of horsepower and performance even in the first generation but to me it has always been the best looking Camaro.

As good as the new ZL1 is, even in regular form, it just doesn't do it for me like the Z/28 does/did. I've said it many times before. The Z/28 is a car I HAD to own. I've owned almost 90 cars in my life and have never had the same feeling about a car like I do this one. If there were no Z/28, then absolutely, I would go after a ZL1 or probably a Z06...like I almost did recently. Then I came to my senses after waxing my Z/28. The car is ****ing perfect exactly the way it is. Once I have my Z/28 paid off, my next car will be a 2000 Mustang Cobra R because that is the only other car that gives me the same feeling the Z/28 does. No, it's not the fastest car around, but dammit it's so freaken cool.

Man that wing just kills it for me. Totally get the advantage for track use, but it just is too much for me. Put a Z/28 like spoiler on that biatch with a wicker bill and it would be da bomb!

I can't get the picture to post dangit, but here's the FB post from Vengeance.

"Our customer just took delivery of the first 2018 Camaro ZL1-1LE in Georgia, and it is here for some extensive performance Vengeance modifications! We are installing our full Stage IV performance package on this car which consists of a set of our VR CNC ported LT4 cylinder heads, VR Stage III camshaft kit, VR custom cold air intake system, Kooks Headers and Exhaust , and our upper and lower pulley system. We're also adding a VR E85 flex fuel kit and AlkyControl methanol injection system to assist in power and cooling for this track monster!

Stay tuned as we make further progress on the install and head back to the dyno for final performance tuning.

Camaro ZL1"

Oh hell no. I'm a 5th gen guy and have no use for a track car regardless of year. Pockets are running deep on that ZL1/1LE though. I'm betting the owner isn't even putting a tag on it.
