First recorded fuel up yesterday and......
I thought the dash was lying to me. Said 25.2 mpg. Turns out it was spot on.
It's a V6, and given it's seen about 10% of it's original miles between the test drive (over night - around 100) and the last week (around 400) I'm happy with it. I'm thinking it's still breaking in anyway with 6k on the odometer(and climbing quick) To me, this is great seeing my '09 Forester 5 speed get's over highway EPA rating with a good deal of highway/35-45 mph driving and sees around 28 overall. And yeah, I have fun with it - when I want to. I'm funny - I keep track of mpg. |

my 2015 V6, 4000 miles later at 6600, reading 21.5 . But I have a heavy foot! and AC will detract. And only around 5% of those miles are highway.

I had a buddy that charted all his gas mileage in Excel... it was pretty cool to look at. Goes up and down for summer and winter... but generally went up and up over time.

Admittedly, unless I'm in a rush, I've trained myself on the highway to stay around 60-65. 60 more so in this car. The few mph over that reduces highway mileage fast in anything. And ultimately driving with any traffic, you end up stopping somewhere. Longer distances can be a different story with speed Quote:
My overall point was - I was pleasantly surprised, knowing it will probably go down with different conditions. |

And that looks to be at around 70. Can't complain with that at all.
Didn't catch if it was a manual or auto, but regardless, that's good. Quote:
I just keep an eye out for something I can't explain. For example, same drive, same time of year, mileage off (without my driving changing - which will be harder with this car - and that's ok) |

I don't really keep track, like my wife says I drive it like I stole it.

I was getting about that when I had that many miles. I haven't checked it in a long time - at almost 28k now. That is low from the window sticker. Most of my miles are highway but with cruise control set to 73 or 74. I am sure cruise control is a big gas waster especially in the hilly area of western NC.

here on camaro5. Some claim they get 28-30 with the SS. Just can't happen. I'll never understand the BS here re high MPG with the Camaro.
