V6 Manual 1st to 2nd grinding

Ok this is a minor issue but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced it,

Ever since I got my 2011 LS in August I've noticed that it has a very slight tendency to grind when going from 1st to 2nd quickly. I only really noticed it because my old car was a 2003 Focus with a manual and I could pretty much slam into second gear from first while accelerating and not have any problems; but with the Camaro, if I'm not careful about shifting or I shift really quick without double clutching it tends to grind.

I feel like it might have something to do with the fact that the reverse gear is right next to first so you have to pass the by the reverse slot on your way to second so it might be because I have a tendency to push the lever slightly to the left. Kinda weird but I've gotten used to it by making sure not to put any pressure to the left while shifting and if I want to shift really fast I can double clutch it and it works perfectly.

Is this normal? Is this something that others have noticed?

I've had it happen to me a couple times, second is rough to shift into in general. I think it's because the primary torque and hp is in that gear

Not normal, came here to see if it was an easy fix especially since im out of warranty. Only to learn that is' pretty much a problem that has remained unacknowledged for a while... Bit pissed.... I cant afford a 3-4K transmission job right now. Wonder how much i could sell this thing for now lol.

This AY6 isn't the best transmission. The synchros do normally have issues, and I have chocked it up to a quirk in this trans.

Keep your fluid clean, and just try to take it as easy as you can at most times.

Wondering this myself. Thought it was just me and going from a soft transmission to a much stiffer one.

The "not the best transmission" is a bit disheartening. But it's not a ZL1 so I guess it makes sense it's cheaper.
