Wire color verification
Hey everyone. I'm trying to T-Tap into 3 different wires so I can monitor the signals using a computer. However I need to know which wires are which in each case:
1) The MAP sensor: This is a 2-wire harness. I assume it's either signal + ground or maybe signal + signal (where the voltage ratio determines the MAP). In any case, can someone tell me which wire to tap and what color it is? I want the wire whose voltage expresses the manifold pressure as far as the ECU is concerned. 2) The TPS sensor: There is a 6? wire bundle coming from the throttle body and one of them is rumored to be a 0-5V reference that tells you the throttle position. Again, which colored wire is this in the bundle? 3) The Knock sensor: There are 2 knock sensors that I am aware of, one for each bank. I only really need 1 of them. The ECU's X2 (the grey) connector has 4 wires that pertain to the knock sensors, 2 for each sensor. However I can't find a detailed description of each of the 2 wires so I don't know which is ground or 5V or whatever. I want the wire that has the acoustic waveform on it that goes to the ECU. Anyone know the pin number or color of that? Please help me if you know any of these. Thank you.

Are these what you need?

That is precisely, exactly, positively what I needed. Thank you very much.
Question of clarification: I notice there are 2 wires on the TPS that both say reference. Any difference between them? If 1 is the small side of the potentiometer and the other side is the large side, it shouldn't affect me but just wanna make sure. Also, the knock sensor, as I feared still says nothing about the difference between A and B. Would you happen to know what the difference is?

This is how I understand it:
TPS: The low reference is a "clean" ground. The 5v will (should) always be 5v (or close but should be constant). They are baselines the computer uses. I hope that makes sense. Knock sensor: I have no clue about the difference in the wires. Maybe someone will come along with a better understanding and explanation. |

TPS seems to be working... the higher the RPM the lower the voltage from 4.something.
MAP is outputting some voltage so I'll have to calibrate it first before I'll know how good the number is. KR I haven't checked yet. It started raining just as I had the wiring harness all in pieces in my hands. The stupid #26 was buried so far in the middle of everything there was no way I could get to the wire to splice it so I went for bank 2's A wire (Light blue). I made a complete guess that because both banks had a gray wire, gray must be "common" like "ground" and therefore the colored wire would be the one I'd want so I tapped into that one. Now I have to amplify the signal and pass it through an FHT algorithm to find the specific frequency representing knock. What a PITA. At least I bought Tefzel shielded MIL spec wire for this so the signal degradation should be minimal.
