Need some help, car died!
Hey guys,
I need some help! My 2010 Camaro SS L99 has had it's 'Service Stabiltrak' light come on and it's running rough. I started it a few minutes ago and it ran for about 30 seconds and then died. I also have a strong fuel smell. I have a code reader and the codes that pop up are: P0205 - injector circuit malfunction P0305 - Misfire cylinder 5 I have done the following: 1. replaced the spark plug in cylinder 5 2. swapped the injector coil from another cylinder to cylinder 5 (codes stayed the same) 3. listened to the injector - sounded like it was clicking like another one, but hard to tell since the engine was chugging 4. The spark plug wire looks like all the others, but I haven't replaced/tested it Should I buy all new spark plug wires? I'm contemplating replacing the injector, but no one here in Hawaii sells OEM stuff, only knock off (GP Sorensen, etc). I'd like to get the car running ASAP, so if I get impatient I might just grab one of the knock offs. Any other ideas? My car has 58k miles.

Sounds like the#5 injector might be stuck open or malfunctioning, with the smell of fuel I'm thinking stuck open. When you pulled the plug was it wet?

It was a little bit, yep. Since I did seem to hear it clicking though does that mean it could still be stuck open (I'm not super knowledgeable on injector operation)?

Oh, wow, so in this video the car wasn't even on? You just turned the key to the 'on' position?
For this test did you fully remove the fuel rail (to include disconnecting it from the fuel line) and then reconnect the fuel line back to the car and then test it?

You do not start the car. Keep all the injectors in place and all the fuel lines attached or the system will not build pressure. Have someone turn the key on so they can turn it off while you watch the injectors. Because the system is under pressure if the injector is hung open or not seating right it will keep spraying until all pressure is relieved even after the key is off. If it's not hung open and just a small leak the tip may show a slight sign of wetness, it could be very minimal depending on how bad, wipe the tip off and if it gets wet again it's junk. If this test doesn't show results there is a black cap on the end of the fuel rail, remove it and there is a small valve, similar to the ones on your wheels, depress it like you were letting air out of your tire and it will relieve the pressure in the system, then swap the #5 injector with one from a different cylinder, preferably on the opposite side, re-install everything and start the car, if the problem follows the injector it's junk if not there is a good chance the injector are not the problem.

Try to borrow a noid light. If it flashes while car is running replace #5 injector. If it's on steady or off you will have a circuit or PCM problem.

UPDATE: I went ahead and replaced the injector at cylinder 5 and the car is running normal again! I drove it around for about 5 minutes and didn't feel any lugging/chugging, etc. I have my fingers crossed though because we all know how car stuff goes...

So...the issue reared it's ugly head again. I replaced the injector in early June and the car has run great since then, but last week it started giving my troubles. I've got the same codes as last time... :(

The replacement I used was a brand new one from GP Sorensen. It's entirely possible, but I feel like it isn't the injector since it's only two months old.
