Cost of Garage Cleaning ... $170!!

Backed my cars out of the garage to clean it; Camaro started and ran just fine. After cleaning the garage, got in the Camaro to run to the store for a few things; it took several cranks to finely start, had never done that before. After starting every light on the dash came on except the check engine light, gauges weren't working/registering anything and the DIC started flashing a bunch of warnings. Knew immediately what the problem was, battery was over 4 years old and they normally only last around 3 here...so drove straight to my local AutoZone about 4 miles away; they tested the battery & it wouldn't hold a load/tested bad. New battery came to just over $170 with military discount and rebate; took about 10 minutes to swap out and everything is as good as new again.

Posting this in hopes it helps others when (and I do mean when) this happens to them, the first thing to do is check their battery first, it most likely will be the culprit

Not what I was expecting when clicking on this thread. That sucks man!

But, glass half full, at least it didn't die at a really inconvenient place and leave ya stranded somewhere! So could have been worse.

And, the garage is clean!

Yes it does and today must of been the day for batteries. When I first got to AutoZone, there were 2 people in front of me buying them and in the 10-15 minutes it took me to swap mine out, I saw 4 others walking in with their dead ones and, as you know, Mesquite is a very small town
