Man I still haven't tried a car seat in the car yet. My wife a has a new jeep Cherokee and wont have a issue. I know will need to drop the kid off or pick up every once in a while not daily.

Anyone try a rear with a snap in base?

I have the Chicco also, fits well.

On a recent trip to Malibu we rented a new 'vert SS, so much less room in the back - it was a tight squeeze for my 3 year old and my wife.

My apologies, this is a 2 yr old thread. I bumped this old thread for reference sake of how I positioned the car seat in the center. Passenger seat is minimally impacted with leg room (potentially not at all depending on car seat and recaros v. regular seats).

We have a vert, but I don't think that should impact our ability to fit one in at all.
Choose your poison. The wife? Or the baby? You can’t have both. You want both? Your wife will be eating the dash cause a car seat facing the rear (its a law with a baby) will not allow her to sit comfortably in passenger seat unless your wife has no legs? Lol

But does apply to your point, putting car seat directly behind seats is troublesome for front seat leg room
