I use Deltran's smaller battery tender that's waterproof. I can put it under the car, or hang it on a wall. Its a great and durable unit, and I've been using the deltrans for about a decade now with no problems.

+1 I have a Battery Tender Jr... it's over 8 years old, I use for my bike. Never had an issue w/ it.

The Jr. has a bit less output than the regular so if you let the battery run down it takes longer to recharge but if you put it on when you know it's going to be parked for a while it works just fine.

Yes, the smaller units will have less output, but since my car(s) sit for long periods of time it doesn't pose as a problem.

BTW: Tenders are not meant to recharge a dead or badly run down battery. Make sure that you are using the tender on a good battery and that you do not have a power drain issue.

Yes, I have a charger/jumper for dead/low batteries.

The cheapest you can find...All your looking for is a low current and some will recharge a drained battery...Beyond that you're just paying for a name...

I have been very happy with my Schumacher one. And it was not expensive at all!

How are you hooking this up for my fellow C5 members that have CAI intake and Rotofab washer bottles?

I just hook mine up in the trunk when put up for the winter. Other wise hook it up under the hood. Positive is easy to get to and just find another alternative ground to hook up to.

I have a black and decker, and tender Jr. I like how they have quick disconnects included. It makes it easier of course.
I've read that constantly charging the battery causes them to fail earlier than if they weren't fed a constant charge. In theory these have circuits that don't charge if they don't need to but I haven't verified that with any measurements.
With that in mind I just turn off my charger from time to time and not leave it on 24/7 all year.
