reason after 8 years and over 48,000 miles this car has very few paint chips. There's one on the edge of the hood and 2 gouge like chips on the front facia and thats it. Absolutely none anywhere else including the gills. With all of the complaints about paint chips here on camaro5, it's hard to explain why, but believe me I'm not complaining. Taken AM 8/21/17: |

Sorry for thread grave-digging... I have been having what sounds like loose rocks rattling somewhere on my SS coupe. I have checked almost everything from underneath the car, and even around the fuel tank. Are there conspicuous areas, besides the heat shields underneath, that I might have to remove, to find out?
I was driving along a huge gravel road once, and I started having the sound issue afterward, so I find that to be a coincidence. However, it's been over a year and a half, and the sound pretty much comes up every time I go over a speed bump or a decent dip in the road/ground surface I'm driving on. It sounds like it's smallish, loose gravel hitting something clearly made from solid metal. It's not hollow-sounding when the gravel or rocks hit whatever it's stuck in/around. I really need help diagnosing this, because it drives me nuts and makes my car sound broken every time the car remotely goes over any sort of bumps. |

I don't know when the PPF is going to fully harden, as I plan to probably remove it when it gets really damaged. There's tons of spots where it's saved my front front bumper from rock ships and a bunch of other scratches and deep gouges/knicks. There's also swirls in it, way worse than the paint surprisingly, but there's really no way to cut and polish it, like I can do with the paint itself. |
